listening to the recording it sounds like a resource issue on your PC but then looking at the specs of the machine you are using im struggling to believe that, couple of things i can think of checking, Firstly is it only the recording software your using at the time ie you dont have loads of other apps etc open? http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon is a good app for testing if there are any resource hogs on your machine, are you using the very latest djm900 driver? should be 1.303 hopefully that will put you onto something that may be causing the issue

SeguiDJM 900 Sound Errors when Recording via USB!
hello,
ive a djm 900 and 2x cdj 2000. i want to record my mixes with adobe audition 3.0.
i searched the whole forum and inet for this problem but with no luck.
im using the actual drivers on the djm 900,on the cdj 2000 and on my notebook. my system specs are:

i notice several sound problems when im recording via usb..it sounds like the tracks are going faster although i do not
touch the pitch or the tracks are skipping and clipping (like sound interruptions).. when iam recording via line-in everything sounds fine..

Without listening to the file, have you updated your DJM drivers?
yes im using the actual drivers and ive updated my djm 900.
okay will check this with latencymon and post my results here. thanks so far
Okay guys. I used latencymon and it seems that there is a problem with my notebook.
This is the message i get: Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines belonging to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. You might have to disable your battery device to get better results.
LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:02:28 (h:mm:ss)
i found out that other people have latency problems with this type of notebook (dell xps 15 L502X) too. Did not find a solution, maybe ive to contact Dell..
@soda > One thing you could try is to search online for Windows optimization in disabling background services and applications to improve the system efficiency.
now you mention that i remember reading something on ni's forums about it (sorry if this breaks the rules) http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?p=706293
@bey0nd: very interesting! will try to deactivate apci battery pack and wireless lan.. maybe it helps?
okay guys i think ive managed it ;) i disabled "Microsoft ACPI Battery Pack" and the "Wireless Network Card" in the device manager.
have recorded a set (30min long). no problems so far! thx for youre helps and infos
Interesting read..
I've had the same issue when recording via USB, (I have the recording), TBH I haven't been bothered to troubleshoot it yet, I guessed it had something to do with my desktop being over utilised at the time of recording but thinking about it I did have my wireless card enabled whilst recording. After NYE I'll try and recreate the same enviroment and disable my wireless and see what happens, this might be harder than it seems because several cans of stella artois were involved when I was mixing the first time ;-)
OK I can confirm in my case disabling the in-built wireless card on my desktop pc resolved this, originally I thought it was down to over utiliastion of the PC but I have tested it nope it's defo a conflict with the wireless....
When I originally saw the problem I had the below open/running:
Soundforge Open Recording Via USB
Rekordbox Open playing tunes via Link
Rekordbox Analysing Imported Tracks
Webcam Sream to Ustream
3 IE Sessions
MIRC
Windows Messenger
AVG
Outlook 2k3
I have re-created this setup with Wireless enabled.. I get the problem, then wireless disabled and bamn no problem :-)
Thanks for the post guys :-)
@Chukkel > Thanks for letting us know, D.
Don't forget to match your bitrate / samplerates or the recordings will sound sped-up / slowed-down.
I am running: N5110 Dell Intel Core i7-2630QM, Traktor, DJM900, CDJ2000, Maschine
If I plug the DJM900 with any DAW got the same error. I have troubleshoot while i am playing with no recording. I already disable the wireless and the battery services. Its funny cause if i choose the cdj2000 to be the main output there is no troubleshoot. I think it can be the djm900 driver error...
@Angello > Have you verified that you have the current drivers and that you have matched settings between the software and the hardware (bits/samplerate)?
Thanks for the fast reply..
Yes the sample rate is matched on hardware and software. I have the latest drivers. Yesterday I disable windows services one by one now it is runing much better. I have a clip or pop like every 20 minutes... Is it ok that I had 2 playback devices? One is "DJM-900 Nexus" wich is currently playing and the other is named "DJM900", well I disable "DJM900" too..
Oh.. Also I want to add.. that disable NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M device make a lot of improvement
There are for sure Driver errors. Check out my post ( Recording issues Ableton Color Effects Dub Echo, Space) with all the issues I am having.
Even without recording if you select Output 7/8 as REC OUT the Color effects DUB ECHO ,SPACE have major feedback issues.
If you select output 1/2 as REC OUT no issues.
Not to mention the signal bleed on each input channel causing phasing issues while mixing!
Pioneer needs to address these issues for there sound card. When I use my SSl 3 as a soundcard I have zero issues
@Aaron > If you haven't updated your drivers, that's likely your problem.
I think I have the most updated drivers. I went to the site from the manual and the current one is 13 sept 2011 that is what I have and still getting all these issues.
I did figure it out that if I use Channel 1/2 as my REC OUT it all seems to work fine.. no issues However 7/8 as REC OUT I get all the issues I talked about in my separate post.
This is something that my not have come up before that you want to address as an issue when creating new drivers.
Cheers
hi guys,
i've got same problem as (soda), i've got djm 900 nexus and cdj 900x2, i want to record with wavelab but having problems recording via usb on djm 900, and tried using audio interface to record still no luck, been trying to solve this problem for a while, i've tried diffrent settings still having same problem(not to sure what settings are suppose to be set at on wavelab but can see what settings i last used to record in picture i uploaded?), i tried using just my technics 1210 turntables and djm 900 mixer didnt work, tried using technic 1210 turntables djm 400 didnt work, tried the cdjs with djm 400 didnt work and tried using diffrent laptop and diffrent recording softwares still getting same problem.(With all diffrent settings)
i also disabled my wireless and Microsoft ACPI Battery Pack and still having same problem
and tried the latencymon program, which said
' Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks, your are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. the cause of the program is not immediately apparent'.
*But when i use 2 male RCA mono cable connected to (rec out) on mixer and connect one male stereo mini 1/8 inch (3.5mm) into microphone on computer it works just not getting best sound, which leaves it down to a setting or my laptop cant handle real-time audio. *
my system specs;
acer
aspire 5732z
pentium dual core cpu
windows 7
3.00 GB
64-bit operating system
i have a sample to show what its doing during recording,
also have a picture to show what settings i use on wavelab.
i hope someone can help me thanks.
i also have everything updated
