Not sure, but I think that you might need to get it powder coated, to get that "skin" on it.
So I need to paint my mixers rotary plate, I used a flat black gloss and it looks nice but does anyone know how to get the plate to be as smooth as the mixers plate. When you touch pioneers mixers, they are smooth all around the top, kinda like they are waxed, I can't get the new plate to be slippery smooth like that, the plate has a little friction and feels a little tacky. Any ideas? Thanks guys

hmmmm, thats a good idea too, I do have a powder coating place right in town. Will that definitely give it that smooth glass feel? I dont want to have it done and it's still rough like
The glass/ smooth feel is purely dependent on the powder content of the coating company. Each brand of powder used has their texture/ color/ finnish/ longevity. some have a rough feel, some are smooth, some are shiny, some are more subtle. Your choice.
Good Powder coating will last 10-30 years with out fade under weathering conditions.
But being that your powder coating a product for indoors, i would say it would last a LONG LONG time. Just make sure you like your color. It is very easy for the coater to take the coating off if you choose to change the color.

thank you, I think at this point it may be cheaper and less of a hassle to just buy a new rotary kit which will have a brand new plate obviously
