keep in mind the fader caps are p-locks though so don't just try and rip them off, if you google, you will see how to properly remove the fader caps

Spilled beer on DJM-2000(mostly on the beat effects) Now everything works accept for the 1/2 Button
A beer got spilled on my DJM-2000 last weekended while I was playing a friends party and the beat effects started to mess up in the middle of my set. all the lights began to act strange. Then I left it alone for 2 days cleaned it and they all started to work accept for the 1/2 which worked but was very sticky(so i had to mash it kinda hard to get it to activate) I turned it on again a day after that and everything seemed perfect accept the 1/2 is just not working at all now.... I can scroll though the ms with the knob though and the 1/2 light underneath it activates when im at the right # of ms.... So the effect works just not the button... I was told by the guys at guitar center i might just have to open it clean it with a contact cleaner and it might work after that. Any thoughts?

I have (STORE) pro coverage, I can send it in and have them fix it but I wont have the mixer for a while then and I will have to pay another 400ish to have the pro coverage renewed. What you think?

No point having the cover if your not gonna use it..

well its another 400 after I send it in to renew the protection. So I figure if I can find a way to not spend 400$ on a single button that might be better.... i think i might take it to my electronics professor today and see what she has to say.

$400 is definitely a lot for just one button, but the insides of the mixer should definitely be cleaned. There was some spillage on a CDJ I owned and I did nothing but let it dry and it worked fine. A few months later it started acting up and now its pretty much just decoration in my house. Could have just been an isolated incident but I wouldn't risk it on a DJM 2000!
@Brichi - Are you sure the 2000 has p-lock faders? I thought that was something new introduced on the 900 which came out after the 2000?

the only time you will find out the right ianswer is if you take the chance and then its too late.
if i were urring on the side of caution i would wait and see if anything goes wrong and hold on to your trump card
if it were me i would be sending it in as i dont want it breaking down mid set** when i really need it :)

If you have a certain type of coverage with a certain retailer then it may be a good idea to go there.
