Hello there!
First time posting in the new PIO Forum! My name is Tsuyoshi (Dj Robert Loren), i'm a second-generation Japanese writing from Tokyo, Japan. I'm close to my forties but still enjoy the music and Djing like a teenager!
I bought the new PIO DJM-850 mixer on the 29th of March, and i would like to share some pictures and comments with you.
I don't use any computer/Laptop in my set up, i never do; i use top quality RCA connector type cables (so i don't care that much about Digital Inputs), and i also love Pioneer's effects as well, so the new DJM-850 was the Perfect choise for my second mixer.
It's so simple to use and screams quality from the moment i opened the box. Over the years i get used to the sound of Pioneer's DJM-1000, but the new DJM-850 has almost that pristine and powerfull sound.
The SOUND COLOR Effects are awesome, NOISE and GATE are the best upgrade from the original DJM-800's S.C. effects. Incredible usefull, and when you engage the BEAT COLOR mode, you have a whole new "pallet of colors".
After to try both mixers's S.C. effects (DJM-900nxs/DJM-850), i think the GATE effect on the DJM-850 is in some way more playfull and more DJ-friendly to use (you have two different ways to GATE the sound, wich is a very cool option). With DJM-900nxs you have only one way to GATE the sound, and the other half you have a COMPRESSOR, wich is nice, but not always very easy to use or make it sound cool, you have to be a little bit carefull on this effect. Of course, this is just my opinion.
PIO DJM-850's BEAT EFFECTS: ECHO. For those who asked about the differences between the ECHO efffect on the PIO DJM-900nxs and PIO DJM-850, i can tell you for sure that is not the same.
In my set up, i use DJM-850 linked to the PIO EFX-1000, and i can say the ECHO effect is almost the same; DJM-850's ECHO is just a little more loud, just a little, and that's it.
For me, PIO DJM-850's ECHO effect sounds more like its predecessor: Pioneer DJM-800; and also sounds just like PIO EFX-1000.
Okey guys, Unboxing PIO DJM-850, The pictures! (There are 28 pictures in two groups, but only 6 of them are from the unboxing!)
Enjoy!
PD: Excellent Forum!!
