DJM-900 Nexus, x2 CDJ 900, Kontrol x1, Traktor

I already have my setup completed with 2 CDJ-900, Nexus and Traktor Pro 2.

Everything is working perfectly and I'm also able to control traktor via CDJs.

I'm planning to buy Kontrol x1 to use other effects from Traktor, and add Hot Cues to my mixes.

Is it possible to use all of them at the same time? While my CDJs are connected to my laptop(traktor) with usbs and everything is timecoded can I also add "Kontrol x1"?

Would I still able to use DJM-900's effects while using Traktor's too?

Here is a picture of my setup right now (without kontrol x1) ; https://p.twimg.com/An4zYohCEAAUav7.jpg:large

Thank you,

Yep!  The X1 will simply add a MIDI device to control the software, it won't get in the way!

So while my CDJ's are timecoded and my Nexus' channels are usb, I can add Kontrol x1 to this setup? And use everything like used to do and add the new effects & controls of Kontrol x1?

Yes; it's just a USB-MIDI controller.  You could add a keyboard or pad-based controller as well if you wanted.

One last question Pulse - Do I need an interface for that?

Thank you for your help~!

No, the X1 is simply a controller; it will use whatever audio interface you have configured for Traktor.

Sorry for entering this topic, question. But I have a almost as similar question about this mixer;

If I don't want to bring my own soundcard to the club, and there is a nexus mixer present, is it possible to put one usb-cable into the mixer to my laptop (latest version of traktor pro 2), and then use several midicontrollers next to it? Is it ''plug n play''? I want to use the nexus as a soundcard for my midicontrollers. Possible? Thanks !

Hey Ruben,

Yes you can definitely do that, and thats one of the Biggest advantages of Marvelous Nexus :)

For example this is my setup =

2x CDJ-900 connected to Nexus (with red&white audio cables) + Usb connection to my Mac (Traktor 2 pro Software) and then Nexus usb to my laptop again.

This lets me to timecode my CDJs and Traktor takes every action that I do from my CDJs + I can use 4 channels with the help of Nexus and Traktor.

Additional - I got RMX-1000 and Traktor Kontrol X1 just to make everything perfect :)

Tell me if you need anything else

Cheers,

Mb

Thanks for the quick response !

Well, here's my thing. I have to do a gig, and they have a nexus mixer. I'm not going to use the cd players or anything. Just two launchpads (You know from madeon Pop culture) So a usb from mixer to laptop, preferences set to the nexus soundcard in Traktor. My two launchpads into the other usb ports of my laptop and it would (hopefully) work? Do I have to put all faders open, when im using my launchpads to change the volume?

Thanks, !

@Ruben > You should create two configuration files and swap back and forth - that will save on having to tweak all the settings each time you go to the club.

When using the 900, it's important to note that you'll need the DJM900 soundcard config software (and driver if on a PC) and you should set Traktor to External Mixer mode and route the audio for each of the decks to the mixer.  You would then use the mixer to control the volume.  There are plenty of vids on YouTube (a few by myself) on how to set up the 900 for use with Traktor.
