Great idea, but I don't see it as being something implemented to the mixer as the hardware button says "MIX" and if all of a sudden it was an EQ instead of crossfaders (a user didn't check the settings), they would be just a bit PO'd if it didn't work as expected.

SeguiDJM 2000 Frequency mix feature idea/suggestion (looking for feed back)
I'm posting this here to see if this idea can be achieved through a FW update and also to get feedback from other users and hopefully if there is a lot of us who like this idea, I can FW this thread to the suggestion box.
Currently the frequency mixer's ability is to mix from one channel to another and in this process you fade out the channel that mixing from.
It would be very nice for there to be a way to be able to use the frequency mix option as a EQ so the center to be the middle or 12 o'clock like the EQ knob and going left or right would decrease that frequency. With this option you would utilize more frequencies in addition to using the channel faders when mixing.
I hope this idea is clear and I look forward to your feedback...
Thanks,
Shain

Thanks Pulse. I was actually thinking of the feature to be activated from the touch panel once you have engaged the big yellow ON/OFF mix button. And to make it clear for the end user, maybe when in the "EQ" mode, have the blue horizontal lines changed to red (only for the EQ mode).
Just took a look at the image of what the mix screen looks like and the idea I have for activating this feature is as follows:
You see the two channels selected at the top of the screen for the MIX mode. What if you hold down (3 seconds) on the desired, selected channel button and a secondary screen or drop down appears to activate the "EQ" mode for that channel. OR push and hold both selected channel buttons then have the activation occur (this way there is no conflict in software for one output to be in EQ mode and another to be in MIX mode.
I'm liking this more now.... :)
I doubt they'll do this, they can't even fix the issues that they caused in the last fw upgrade.
Pulse,
Since you have all the right contacts @ Pioneer, do you want to take this to them please?
Oh and if they really like the idea, I would gladly take a HDJ 2000 as a gift ;)
Thanks,
Shain
Sent as a product suggestion.
Not sure if it happens.. but it's a cool suggestion for sure!
Mine as well close this thread also Gavin, I know you said you forwarded our complaints, but apparently you mods don't have any power, so your comments will also be ignored. Feel free to ban my account and delete this reply, I'm over pioneers service. Nothing gets done anyways.
I will start to forward all these links to DJ magazines...I urge all of you to follow my lead and do the same...Maybe with the truth about Pioneer's POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE somebody will finally wake up from their coma...This will be my mission, hope you all join me.
I will start to forward all these links to DJ magazines
Like? just so i can follow, post links
I'm down too. I've forwarded the threads that the mods closed, hopefully they don't get deleted. I'm also going to copy/paste everything just in case they get deleted.
I've done i-DJ magazine so far but basically any reporter that reports on DJ gear should do...one should find this as ridiculous as we do. Even DJ sites out there....
I just did DJTECHTOOLS
DJMAG just got the email too.
I will keep going but will stop listing now...
So basically a smear campaign?
I voted and commented, thanks for the link.
Pulse, dunno if it is or isn't, but at least the word will get out there.
Call it what you wanna call it. PIONEER HAS FAILED TO FIX THEIR SCREW UP FOR A YEAR NOW...THIS IS THEIR SO CALLED FLAGSHIP MODEL AND ALL YOU FOCUS ON IS DEFENDING THEM. SOMETIMES IT WILL GO A LONG WAY TO JUST BE QUIET AND KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOUR SELF.
DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FIRMWARE? YES
HAVE WE WAITED LONG ENOUGH? YES, A YEAR NOW
WAS THE PROBLEM INTRODUCED AFTER THE MIXER CAME OUT? YES
AM I OR ARE WE OUT OF LINE? NO
ARE YOU? NATURALLY YOU WILL NEVER THINK YOU ARE SO WHATEVER AMIGO; I GOT NO BEEF WITH YOU BUT YOUR STANDING UP FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT WORTH YOUR LOYALTY. THEN AGAIN MAYBE IF I HAD ALL THESE PIONEER TOYS IN MY ROOM TO PLAY WITH I WOULD BE AS CALM AS YOU PULSE.

Well said. The mods don't care, when there's an issue with a mixer, they just put it aside and use a different mixer. If this djm2000 was given to me along with other mixers, I wouldn't care either, but I unfortunately had to pay over 2000$ for it :(
We don't care? Then why are we here day in and day out volunteering to help users answer questions, and yet we have to face abuse like this and you wonder why threads get closed? Shocking, really.
WOW HE JUST SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT. UNBELIEVABLE! This is not about you guys, this is about the undeniable poor customer support and poor customer service from Pioneer.
I can't believe you just suspended my account for pointing out that you are wrong. Read my post again because you clearly did not understand it. A smear campaign refers to a false accusation WHICH NONE OF THIS IS (FALSE).
PIONEER REPRESENTATION AT IT'S BEST RIGHT HERE.
And PLEASE don't use question marks in your sentences if you are not willing to let me reply.
If we as the mods find a problem, we then send it to the right channels. We are well versed in the gear and what it does, but we are not the end all final word sometimes. If there is an issue we are glad, VERY GLAD, to send it to the right person for review and an answer. Maybe I'm late here but all I see is a complaint about one year and a fix. I'll ask, what can I do to help you out as a Mod on this site? Tell me the issue and I will send it off to the right person and then we can wait for a proper answer. Will it be an absolute fix, I don't know, I am not the mechanic for the gear, I am the reporter. So allow me to do my job and help out so that we can go back to doing what we all want to do, playing music for crowds......
The main question is, why has it been a full year without a fix for the issue that was caused by pioneer? I understand there isn't a way to downgrade, but at least make another firmware update like the one I had when I bought the mixer. I'm now stuck with an issue that was caused by the manufacturer. I can see pioneer not doing much if this was an issue caused by a customer, but it's pioneers fault. Why haven't they tested the firmware before releasing it to the public. Are the 2000 mixers being sold with this new software today?
Hi Jay,
The issue in a nutshell is that Pioneer broke the features of some of the effects where we are always clipping even with the levels at minimum. We have waited 1 year now for a a fix, not to mention we cannot figure out how this got passed QA to begin with. We complained and complained and waited and waited and truth be told, we are frustrated now. The whole effects section on the touch pad of the DJM 2000 is useless due to the levels. There are issues as well.
When expressing our frustrations, topics get closed and accounts get suspended. NO WORRIES there. I would like to stay on topic with what is important.
The DJM 2000 is your flagship model and we are demanding some attention to the problems caused by Pioneers engineers. We cannot even roll back to the old firmware where these issues were absent in.
Who ever your contact has been (from the forums to Pioneer offices) has not paid any attention to this matter and we need someone else higher to get involved. If the code was not broken in the previous version and somehow got broken in the new release, this should not take long for a programmer and or engineer to resolve. I deal with this stuff for a living so I have experienced it.
WOULD YOU PLEASE FIND SOMEONE HIGHER IN THE CHAIN TO LOOK IN TO THIS MATTER? ONE YEAR FOR THIS FIX IS NOT REASONABLE.
As we all know, Pulse can get a little defensive sometimes and this was not pointed at him, Gav or you. As mentioned lots of times before, this is our frustration at the way Pioneer has been treating this matter.
Thank you kindly,
Shain
*There are other issues as well. (correction to the last sentence in the first paragraph)
Oh and Jay please review the now closed topics in the mixer section (all at the top). We have now carried over to this title thread as all the other ones got closed (for reasons which I don't need a reply to).
If you want to know what has been going on, read them please and look at the dates.
Cheers
I will send off an Email shortly and when I have a better answer than "I'm not sure", I will post it here. We, Pulse/Gav/Foster/Me, are inplace to help you the customer and end user. Having a pile of gear looks good, but like candy you can only eat one piece at a time or DJ with one piece at a time. The pay off is to have the Forum members happy with their decisions to buy Pioneer gear over other companies. Obviously we want the same thing as you since we are DJs first and Mods second.
This issue will be sent to Japan by me today, I will send it to the right people and ask for an answer on the concern and a timeline answer for a solution. Once I have these replies I will post them here and hopefully andother concern addressed and taken care of...
djjay
Thank you kindly. We certainly appreciate it Jay. I just wish you had chimed in earlier ;)
