Gareth, I think you summarised it well! These are actually the same things I was about to write down here.
Dear forum members and Pioneer,
After writing many e-mails over the last 2 years, I now decided to write my complete list down here. (So I am aware of the special product suggestions mail address)
I know there have been many topics about this and some of them are closed (some for valid reasons)
However, I would still like to get my voice out here! (and by NO means trying to get this topic closed)
After using Pioneer products since 2003 and owning the 2000 range since early 2010 I think I can give some decent feedback here.
CDJ-2000:
First of all let's say I am really happy with Pioneer.. It took ages before the most important bugs where fixed but at least they done it. Well done Pioneer!
There is still room for improvement on the current CDJ-2000 range but it is getting good!
My priority suggestions:
- Auto hotcue load
- 4 beat loop button issue getting fixed (no details, you guys are aware of it ;)
There are some other minor things, but you people are aware of that.
DJM-2000:
First, I love my mixer and I was very happy to see Pioneer trying to make their flagship mixer even better.
Still I have some decent suggestions.
Since the firmware 2.0 update:
I found that the Side chain and Oscillators are too loud resulting in a lot of distortion; I also almost blew up PA systems in some clubs because you need to turn the volume down to like 15/20 percent to get a decent level.
The Quantize function is great, but for Sliproll it is not quite right, You can hear it's not very tight on beat. It's even better when turning off Quantize.
There where also good suggestions like improved FX, a new EQ mode for the touchscreen or more functionality for the midi part.
Dedicated 64 bit drivers, sometimes when selecting the DJM-2000 ASIO driver my pc crashes. (resulting in a BSOD)
Rekordbox:
Extra option: backup Rekordbox database/importing RB Database.
An easy option to clone rekordbox collection to have your RB collection on let's say my notebook and my studio computer. ( a syncing tool would also be handy then )
Better stability
Multicore support (like new Intel I3,I5,I7 CPUS and other current brands)
Dedicated 32/64-bit version of RB to take advantage of more memory, speed, etc.
Error check for audio files added to Rekordbox ( to avoid faulty mp3s causing trouble)
Keydetection would be a nice addition. (I have MIK but still..)
Just wanted to make sure my feedback is getting heard.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day! :)

Gareth, I think you summarised it well! These are actually the same things I was about to write down here.
I agree with the guys above me. these suggestions are very usefull indeed
the rekordbox suggestions are also pretty handy if you ask me. I believe I saw a lot of similar suggestions on the (old) pioneer forums and some new ones from your side.
Would be cool if they finally made something happen by compiling a list of all the usefull feedback and see what they can achieve starting with this thread! any other people that would like to share their opinions about this matter in a nice and well constructed way?
this topic is really good! pioneer should learn from this topic :)
I too agree with all the above...
I do want to mention that, I am personally not thrilled about the fact that Pioneer is putting all this effort in to the toys like the new wireless controller, and forgetting about the "flagship" gear.
I had read all the topics that surrounded these issues a month or so ago and DJ JAY had said that he would take this matter to Japan and bypass everyone else and get back to everyone when he had some news....Not sure why you're all hopeful still. I don't mean to be an @$$ but it's just what it is.
It's been over a year now and all these new lines of Pioneer gear have come out but still no hope for the flagship gears.
Oh and the emails I had sent out to 6-8 people at Pioneer still have not been acknowledged; surprise, surprise. Thanks Pioneer! Great customer service!
I absolutely agree with John.. all this effort in making new DJ Toys and stop evolving the current flagship DJ gear is beyond my mind..
I sure understand a company is there to make profit and money, but since Pioneer is the leader in this industry for quite some time I feel they should stick out their neck and do something to remain their current position. (especially in this kind of scene and with the products costing a lot of money)
Besides products and quality it's about customer service and support.
There have been so many useless clues the last year about engineers looking at stuff but no concrete answers or any real improvements. (some small things for sure but still..)
We will have to wait and see, hopefully the brand we all put our trust and money in will show us different then some of us are thinking right now.
There have been a lot similar topics in the last few months (even years)
I don't know how far it will take us in the right direction guys but at least it is worth trying.
I would also suggest that everyone having issues and/or suggestions to e-mail them to ppdj@pioneerprodj.com
@everyone
I'm not sure either what will happen when we e-mail Pioneer. (I've done it a lot, so did a lot of my mates in the past two years)
but guys, let's be honest here.. even though pioneer might not always respond to everything they read, I am pretty sure a lot of people within the company checkout this forum.
still I think the e-mail address is the best (official?) way to report bugs or any other problems any of you are experiencing.
I ofcourse also highly recommend to send all of your small or big suggestions to the special mail address in the upper right corner, you never know what might come out of it.
Thank you for your feedback however in future, please use the Product Suggestions link (to the right, below the technical support contacts) for any non-support issues or product questions.
