DJM2000 v3.18 Available NOW!!!!!!

Already posted by "hatrik" in another thread but thought it very much worthy of its own!!!

http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?c=686&lang=en&p=DJM-2000&t=110

Ver.2.01 -> Ver.3.18 (20 December, 2012 Update)

- Added BEAT SLICE REMIX.

- Added SYNC MASTER.

- Added PEAK LIMITER.

- Changed OSCILLATOR1-4 of SIDECHAIN REMIX to NOISE, HI-HAT, CLAP and SNARE.

- Improved SIDECHAIN REMIX usability in SAMPLER, PITCH and GATE.

- Added manual effects to SIDECHAIN REMIX.

- Manual effects mean that when touching the pad, effects are triggered in this version,

whereas increased volume level triggered the effects in the previous version.

Really really great update!

Very well done Pioneer. Just testing out in this moment and everything is working better!

The new sidechain remix (with manual controls) is absolutly great.

There is no other way to say that this Mixer is now indeed the greatest Mixer of the world (for me ;) )

There is just one problem i found.

If I have a simple Music source without analyzed rekordbox data the Beat Slice effect in Channel Mode will not detect the BPM. But the BPM Counter on the upper small Display gets the information correctly?

Do I something wrong?

Thank you guys!

After years this is the best update ever made for such Dj Equipment!

=)

@ t-top ,  The peak limiter is on by default.

Hold the live sampler / utility button while you power on .... this will bring you in the "club settings"

There are no advanced options for the Peak limiter....

I still have to test the new firmware!! So don't know how everything works

I'm actually extremely impressed with what they did with the side chain effect. That was the most useless thing next to the live sampler, and now I think I can actually find quite a use for it.

Now the only useless thing on the mixer is the live sampler :P

Damn, that's pretty cool. Never thought I'd want to get another mixer (have the djm 900, and just waiting it out until the next upgrade), but these are some nice changes for the djm 2000....finally!!

@Jakub, I see you're using the djm 2000 in conjunction with traktor. Are you using cdj's with this setup or vinyl?

housekeys - you look on my DJ gear on youtube - I have Macbook Pro 15, NI Audio 10, NI Komplete Audio 6, M-audio BX5a, NI Maschine, NI X1 twice, DJM-2000 and HDJ-2000. I have before DJM-800 and CDJ-1000mk3, I bought NI X1 and I loved it to digital dj, then I sell my equipment and buy this gear :-) I try vinyl DVS and CD dvs ,but with CD is not perfect ... some bugs, and vinyl is so heavy( I mean a Gramophone). X1 with sync maschine and step mode is so beautiful and creative. But I can imagine 4xCDJ-2000nexus with DJM-2000(MK1 and MK2) its pretty close to Traktor.

Well it's been a long wait but it seems to be worth it, all the volume levels are normal , the sidechain is vastly improved with more difference in the oc's, but the beat slice is pretty damn good ,a sample that can be chopped ,sequenced and effected and even tempo adjusted and synced ,I must add a well done to the Pioneer engineers great stuff I never would of guessed that was coming .It would be cool to see some official video of these features explained in detail though as now I see the potential of syncing to the mixer with effects but not so much tempo sync to other decks

Christmas has come early even if the firmware update feels like it took forever ,Merry Christmas Pioneer  good work !

Love the new features pioneer,  but am the only one still having issues with some of the sound levels on the touch pad?  The "noise" works very good on all volumes,  but i notice that i'm in the red at mid to high volume with certain effect, like snare,clap.........

can anyone shed some light with that sync thing, are we able to sync the decks like the cdj nexus thing? or is this something else?

If your running Nexus decks you can set the master BPM for all decks from the mixer or sync them up choosing witch one is master or slave from the mixer.l

Yeah, the mixer doesn't sync with incoming audio from Ableton Live. I guess we have to use the Tap feature in the setup (gear) menu.

I'm sure if they could of did it they would of on the MK1 model. But then again maybe not? Cause if they did? Then there is really no reason to buy the new CDJ's.

Just wondering - now with this update, apart from the cosmetic differences, what are the main differences between this and the 2000Nexus as my local store has a couple mk1's left and this is looking mighty tempting ?

Also how we'll does the 2000 play with the RMX 1000? Are the isolator FX duplicated too much or do they work great together ? Would I be better off combining my RMX with a 900 Nexus ? (sorry if this is derailing the thead)

Jane I think the Nexus has improved faders and (on paper at least) better sound quality.  Other than that, they're pretty much the same mixer.  Of course you can't rule out the possibility that the Nexus will receive updates in the future that the MK1 will not.

Ok so I'm back off holiday and finally got to update to v3.18.  Really great update, the Beat Slicer is a great tool and lots of fun, the new Sidechain is much more usable too.  Big thanks, Pioneer!

On another note, It'd be nice if the mods could push Pioneer for a word on whether the Jet Inst FX actually can or cannot be modified to achieve a total fade out of the effect (100% dry).  If official word is that it is technically impossible, or that they just won't do it, then I'll stop asking! :)
