[SOLVED] S-DJ08 Comparison

So I understand that we aren't supposed to talk about competing products on here, but sometimes that is unavoidable. Consider this pre-sale advice and we are going to have to talk a bit about other products.

I want a set of S-DJ08 speakers. I really like the way they look and I REALLY like that they have multiple inputs negating the need for a patch bay or crawling behind them to swap inputs.

I currently have 2nd Gen KRK Rokit 8 speakers with a 10" powered KRK sub. They sound amazing, but they are singular input and, if I'm being honest, my wife doesn't like the bright yellow cones on them.

My only hang up is sound quality. The KRKs are very flat, very loud, and very clean sounding. I honestly have 9 complaints about the way they sound and that is definitely the most important feature of a monitor.

Now, the Rokits are some of the most popular studio monitors out there. They have a good balance of price and performance so many people use them. I'm just trying to make sure that I'm going to be happy with the Pioneers after having the KRKs. They are a big investment and I haven't found anywhere local that I can just go listen to them.

I'd probably keep the KRK sub and just run their output to the input on the S-DJ08s.

Anyway - if you have any knowledge on the subject, I'd appreciate some insight.

The thing about the Pioneer engineers is that, when they research and develop a new product they literally analyse every other competitors product in the market and try to make theirs better in every conceivable way - to the point where its almost frustrating how thoroughly they analyse everything. And its important to remember that Pioneer began as a speaker company so they wanted the S-DJ series to be a strong delivery.

Honestly, I think they do sound fantastic - great through the ranges and very powerful. There is some slight white noise when idle but thats certainly not a big deal. I think you'll be very happy with your investment.

Hello,

I am a dj at home with a laptop and a kontrol s4 midi controller with KRK VXT monitors, but i really want to know if i cammake a switch to the S-DJ08's without losing the power and sound of the VXT6, is the S-DJ08 better in every way then a KRK ROkit RP8G2? and can it be compared to the VXT8 maybe?

@daviscup > You make reference to a lot of speakers there. Sound is always perceived differently to a lot of people. Naturally we are going to recommend the SDJ-08s as they really pack in a punch and are much more powerful than, say, those VXT6s you mention.
