@DJ Six > Did you look at the blown-apart diagram on that webpage? Was that able to help you?
Hi there,
After 4.5 years, the brace that holds the right-side speaker has broken on my HDJ-1000s today.
I really love the sound of the HDJ-1000s and was wondering if I could repair them. I've been told about replacement parts being available at the URL below.
Not all of them have illustrations - which part is the one I need?
Would this be

Also: I've heard about HDJ-1000 breaking - this appears to be a common problem. Has this design issue been improved in the HDJ-1000 Limited, or is this basically the same design with a different color?
Thanks :)

Hi Gavin - no unfortunately, among the part list, I can't find which one corresponds to the bracket that holds the right speaker.
Not all items listed have blown-apart diagrams - some illustrations are missing.
At first I thought it was "SPEAKER UNIT ASSY (R)" but according the the blown-apart diagram this is only for the speaker.
...And it doesn't sound like it would be "UPPER CASE" as well - although it could be - there's no illustration.
See my attachment above for which part I'm talking about.
The build quality of the hdj 1500 is FAR superior to the 1000. The feel and build quality is completely different
I had a potential gig this weekend, and having no earphones was a no-no.
I don't like to change something I like without having a good test run with it, and since my local Pioneer dealer did not have any pairs available for a "test drive", I've decided to get myself a new HDJ-1000 pair (HDJ-1000-K), but I'd still like to fix the older one I have if necessary.
I really really prefer the HDJ-1000 over any previous headphones I have because they have some heck-u-va rich bass and they tightly isolate the ambiant sound (I hate having to use just one ear with a big loud monitor, or constantly take the headphones off and then back on - I mix everything in the headphones).
I've been checking a few reviews and one guy pointed out that the HDJ-2000s did not have the same bassy sound as the HDJ-1000 had, so that weighted on the scale too.
I'd love to be able to test them all on my own if I can someday, to get myself a better opinion.
Anyways - the HDJ-1000-Ks will get me rocking a few partys still for a while :)
Anyone had any luck buying replacement parts for HDJ-1000s?
@Six > I'm afraid I can only advise you to take the units into a service centre for assessment. If you don't wish to do that I'd try gluing them back together.
