@Jon > It's an issue we've seen a few times -- the platter pressure sensor is no longer acting as it should and the player detects that the top is being pressed even if it's not, thus seeming like it's in CDJ mode (apart from stutter-cueing). The best bet is to contact Pioneer technical support (links at right) and have an authorized dealer repair it for you.

Segui[SOLVED] CDJ 1000 won't enter Vinyl Mode
I have a CDJ 1000 that will not enter Vinyl Mode. When pushing the mode button, the blue 'vinyl' shows, but the platter acts as if it is still in CDJ mode....ideas?

Pulse,
Can you tell me the part number for this. I have the cdj1000's, 1000' mk2's, 1000 mk3's and the 2000's. The mk2's are doing the same thing as described as above.
Thanks,
Mark McFadden
@Mark > Sorry Mark, we don't have blown apart diagrams to hand - please give tech support a call for help.
If the problem is the "usual suspect" (which looks like it is), the part number is DSX1065 for cdj1000mk2, cdj1000mk3 and DSX1078 for cdj2000.
If you are lucky enough maybe if you clean the contacts it may work, but looks like in your case that is damaged and not stuck. Sometimes when the symptom is "the cdj pauses when put in vinyl mode" then a simple cleaning of the sheet switch may extend its life. Otherwise a new spare is the way to go.
