800 mk2 bpm problem

Hello

i have just picked up a very good condition cdj 800mk2 everything i working like new however i have noticed when playing a track the auto BPM is out most of the time, i play liquid dnb so most tunes are around 175 bpm it seems to read 86bpm sometimes its near to 170 but not most of the time, is there anything i need to do to correct this problem? i mix with my ears as i am used to 1210s but i dont like it when things are not working as they should, please can you advise me on this

The only solution would be to play different music.  The BPM detection on the CDJs is targeted at the 80-150 range.  Anything outside that range, or with an inconsistent beat, will either show as half / double / incorrect or not at all.

Lots of DJs will tell you that the BPM display is a reference only; you DJ with your ears.  ;)

hello and thanks for your reply, so what you saying is that its doesn't really work to well, like I said i mix with my ears and the only reason i asked was because i was not to sure if it was broken as I never had this problem running Serato auto bpm. its a shame that this problem is not noted in the list of thing it can or in this case cant do, quite miss leading  for some one that may be wanting to use the feature.

Thanks again

Serato does its tempo analysis across the entire song whereas the 800MK2 is measuring shorter segments within a shorter range (80-150, as noted).
