@David > Sorry to hear you are having issues. Did you try them out before you bought them?
Are you sure the problem isn't with the particular CD being used? Does it also happen with USB media?
Hi, I urgently need some help.
I have just recently bought a set of used Pioneer CDJ 400's and I am experiencing issues with one of them.
The music freezes every number of seconds when using the spin platter to search/skip to a particular part of the music track. It seems to be worse in USB mode but it also does in in CD mode.
Please see attached video to give you an idea what I mean.
Does anybody know what may be causing this?
Thanks a million in advance.
Dave

Hi Gavin. No unfortunately there are no issues with the CDs and it also happens on USB media but much worse.
The Cdj are working perfectly, the only issue is the platter when searching for a particular cue point.
It's definitely worse in the USB mode and it feels like the Cdj cannot process the data quick enough when spinning the search platter so it stops and continues from the stopped point after a second or two.
Thanks, dave
@David > Unfortunately, it does sound like this is a hardware problem. However, lets just go through a few other things first. What type of CDs do you use (commercially pressed or burn your own)? If you burn your own, how do you do so (type of CDs / software / settings etc)?
Also, are the units on the latest firmware which is available here: http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?lang=en&p=CDJ-400&t=80
Hi Gavin.
I have just tried a copied and a commercially pressed cd. The commercially pressed cd seemed to work better than the burned copy but still sticks.
Still wouldn't you agree that the USB media input should work the best out of the three options however this isn't the case.
Both cdj's have also the latest firmware installed.
Thanks for your reply. ;-)
@David > Yeah, the USB should work fine too but if you are still having issues then I'm afraid I've to point you in the direction of technical support. They will find a repair centre in your area to get your units serviced / fixed. The contact links for technical support are in the right hand column >>
Hi Gavin, I will do that. Thank you for your help. Best regards, david
@David > Cool, sorry I don't have better news for you but thats your best option right now. Let us know how it goes!
Hi Gavin, just another quick question. What is involved in a service and what's the cost involved?
Thanks
Obviously thats entirely dependent on the problem. I don't know what that may be but the service centre should be able to give you an estimate before they actually repair it.
