CDJ-400 back spin audio dropout

Hi all,

I have recently re-acquired a pair of CDJ-400's as a personal home setup. I used to own these years back but had sold them and regretted it. I've noticed that while I have a CD in the deck (not a mp3's on a cd but an actual audio cd) and have the vinyl button on, I can press << or >> to get to a relatively close spot in a track and then use the jog on vinyl to spin back or forward to get exactly where I want. Problem I'm having is that often after I release the >> or << and spin back or forward, mostly backward, the audio seems to stop even as I continue to spin the jog backward.

Here's a video trying to demonstrate what I'm experiencing. Now this could be a simple matter of I've not used them in a while and have gotten into some new habit but I swear my last pair of CDJ-400's did not do this. Both CDJ-400's are firmware 1.33. I have learned on the older forums that there were complaints about the CDJ-400's having a small buffer but I honestly don't think that what I'm doing is over the top, I could be wrong.

I know these are old players but if someone could shed a bit of light on this I'd appreciate it. I'm just hoping these are not giving up the ghost on me so soon.

Have to turn the audio up a tad, first time really recording anything and putting it up on youtube.

No takers? Pulse? Gavin? I know the equipment is old but I'm trying to figure out if it's user error ;)

@Jagaloon > Where are you based? You might want to consider bringing the unit into a Pioneer centre for a service.
