Pioneer DDJ - T1 not recognised by laptop

Hi everyone,

I have just purchased this product and am dying to get it working! I have installed traktor and installed drivers for the Pioneer DDJ - T1 controller but when i open traktor and turn the Pioneer DDJ - T1 on, the software only recognises the product for 1 second then nothing.... I dont no why it is doing this??? has anyone had this issue before?

All suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Im running Windows 7.

I have plugged the DDJ - T1 into a friends laptop that has the same product and it runs on his computer fine so its something to do with the laptop. (major confusion)

Thanks!

@Reece > Are you running it with the external power connected?  Have you tried a different USB port on your computer?  Have you tried reinstalling the drivers ( find them here).  What version of Traktor are you using?

Pull the battery from the laptop for a minute or two. I did this after hours of trying to get the dj-t1 and the pc laptop to communicate.

I am using external power. I have tried other USB ports on the laptop and it hasnt made a difference. I have installed the Pioneer DDJ-T1 driver (still no luck). Iam using the version of traktor which was supplied with the product which is 'Traktor Pioneer DDJ-T1 edition'.

RenoeNVy: I tried taking the battery out for a couple of minutes and it didnt seem to make a difference. The DDJ-T1 still isnt communicating with the laptop.

did you have Installed the drivers with Admin Privilegs ? If not - just uninstall it and reinstall the driver from the Page here =

http://www.pioneer.eu/de/support/software/DDJ-T1/index.html

As next, start the "Pioneer ASIO" tool to check if the Firmware update has done.

The last step has to be the start of the Traktor Update to Traktor Pioneer Edition 2.

well you reciev an Activation Serial for traktor if you have Registerd your Pioneer DDJ on the pioneer website here

https://secure.pioneer.eu/int/pub/showLogin.do

After that pioneer emails you the serial. just easy activate that serial in the Traktor Service Center  and you can Download the Upgrade.

@Reece > If you have User Account Control (UAC) enabled, even if you're the only admin, it can cause problems.  Try disabling the UAC through the Windows Control Panel and try reinstalling the drivers to see if that helps.  As for the update, you should have received an email from Native Instruments if you registered your product prior to the 2.0 release.  If you did not receive one or purchased it after 2.0 was out, you'll need to contact NI's service team for a serial that works with the upgraded version.

Hey guys. Your comments were very helpful! thanks for giving me advise it was very much appreciated!

The solution: The reason why the product was not communicating with the laptop was because i had several devices (in traktor) under controller manager in the drop down. Once I had gotten rid off previous devices that i used with traktor previously the product worked fine.

Hopefully that helps some1 that may also have the problem that i did!

Cheers guys!

I've got the same problem, only the Play/Cue buttons and the tempo faders are working.. Installed/updated everything. What to do?

Selected Pioneer DDJ-T1 as controller, but whole the assignment table is empty.. There must be some standard settings right? Or do I need to adjust it all by myself?

@Bart > Try running the Setup Wizard again; either from the Settings window or the Help menu.
