I don't think that the sync function of the software has been mapped to the player as the player doesn't have a button for that. You could map it yourself.
will there be an update so we can see the waveform from dj software on the 850, like the 900
@Taff > No, sorry.
i mapped the sync function to the reverse buttons on my 850s and it works great.. go to traktor.. controller manager, at the top swich the device to the 850 ( mine is called generic midi after you have loaded the 850 tsi).. go down to add in... tempo, sync.. then go to learn and learn the function to your reverse button. assign the function to deck A.. do this a second time except assign it to deck B and you are good to go.
let me know if you need any help figuring it out..
sorry.. when you are learning the function to the buttons.. do one to the reverse button on the cdj on the left and call it a.. and one to the reverse button on the cdj on the right and call it b..
Yes i mapped the sync button to reverse but the light not working so fine, sometimes the when ich click sync worked fine with the lights and sometimes when i click sync the light working false hope anybody can help me thanks and greets from Austria ;)
I think I know what you are saying. The light on the reverse stays illuminated some times when not using sync..
I am experiencing a similar problem with the Vinyl v.s. CD scratch mode. To get the right hand CDJ to function like it is in Vinyl mode I have to press the button so it shows as being in CDJ mode when using the midi. The functionality is the same after doing this but one of the CDJ's looks like it is in CD mode.
Hello there, i've been using the cdj 850's for more than a year now and im running on sl3......Was just wondering that is the use of HID control available for serato users? can i know how the setup is if its available. Thanks
daniel, you need to have 3 USB cables.. (the same type of cable that goes from your SL3 into your computer's usb..) if you need more i recommend www.monoprice.com for the best prices.. if your computer only has 2 usb slots like some do, you will need to buy a usb hub..
once you have all the required parts, simply connect your SL3 and two CDJs via usb to you computer.. you should also connect rca cables from your SL3's output into the input if your mixer.. turn them on and push the buttons on the cdjs that say PC twice each then open serato.. it should recognize them and ask you to select a deck on each.. left deck as 1 and right deck as two.. make sure you change serato to operate in INT mode and then enjoy!!
What HID offers is control of the software without using timecode CDs; better control, more information on the display of the CDJ, etc.
In reply to Andrew Galvin: Thanks a lot for your explanation dude, back here in malaysia not much people set up their serato's with hid control. Im using the dim 350.....is it supported together with the hid control?
The DJM350 doesn't have any connection to the computer so no, it doesn't have HID support.
hi there
i have a problem with my 850 and dont know what to do
im trying to connect them to the computer with serato and when i choice the option pc on the decks it says select deck but i cannot do anything any help or advise pls
@Lukasz > You're unable to press the rotary knob to choose that deck? Or rotate the knob to select one of the other decks?
How do modern DJs beatmatch so effortlessly? Are they putting their tracks into ableton? I was watching a video of an hour long DJ set and the DJs were using CDJ 850s, but they barely used the jog wheel during the hour. Wouldnt they need the tempo adjust and or the jog wheel?
@Danny. It depends what program they are using. If you are running traktor or VDJ you can auto sync tracks together so there would be no need to adjust the pitch faders or jog wheel. This would make it very easy to DJ but is relying too heavily on software in my opinion and makes you prone to mistakes due to the lack of control from over automation. It is unlikely that some one would run ableton with CDJs. Most people use midi controllers with ableton and maybe an external mixer.
I run serato with 850s in HID mode and still have to adjust the pitch faders / tempo of the tracks and use the jog wheels to line them up but you can look at what BPM the track is on the computer or CDJ screen.
Is this gonna allow me to use the 850s on a hub? As we all know macbooks only have 2-USB ports and when i use my cdjs with serato im forced to use a hub.
i ask because when i use the usb hub, the cdj850's become VERY glitchy.
@Justin > Yes, you can connect using a hub. In what way does it become glitchy? The more information you can supply us with, the better we can help you.
How come on this site the latest firmware for the CDJ850s is 1.0.6 but on the EU site its 1.0.8? Is there any difference and if so what, as the EU Pioneer site has no change log for 1.0.8. Thanks
will it can creat any harm to my cdj 850 if i use it as a midi controller for traktor pro 2........
I guess I complain alot on here, so I might as well give props when it's due. Timecode support is MUCH tighter with the new firmware than before. Well-done. That's with Version 1.08
@Kiki > I don't understand from that video why you would press Cue to stop the currently playing track before moving on to the next one....?
@Susanz > No, of course not - the players are designed to work just like this.
@Brandon > Thanks for the feedback.
ah d'accord, merci d'avoir répondu.
Any news on a update for the 850s at all?
