Traktor Pro + Audio 6 DJ + CDJ 400/350

Hey guys,

You probably get this question A LOT, and I apologise for posting it up once more but...

Is there a comprehensive guide out there that deals with the complete set up of Traktor Pro + Audio 6 DJ (or any other Audio DJ) + CDJ 400/350 (w/ Macbook Pro)? I have been looking everywhere but am unable to locate such a guide, besides a .pdf stipulating how to connect a laptop running Traktor Pro connected to CDJs directly via USB.

Please help!

Cheers! ;)

i cant offer a guide because i dont have a mac or audio 6, but if you do have the 350's because of the built in soundcard you dont need an audio 6, but if you do have the 400's i think you do but i have never used them so i am guessing. i did help someone from here with setting up their 350's with a mac and he said it now works great, so if you do have the 350's get back to me and i will try to help you, and could you also tell us your full setup

Hi,  Dj-Ric

dj mike here, i'm a owner of the cdj's 350, a macbook pro, and american audio mx-1400 dsp 4 channel mixer. i have this set up since june 2010, and i try out vdj 6.1.2, traktor last version bundle which it comes with the audio 8. yes! if i do have this cdj's that comes with built in sound card, i don need any external one.i jus find out that by your previous comment and a little research. OK the vdj i love it!! it was working perfectly in hid mode, although i did have the free trial version in those days ( june 2010) the only issue after few days trying out to get it set, was the same that other had, when switch the source between usb-midi or cd didn't work any more until reset it again...bad =-(

So i decided to get the traktor one and the problem was even bigger!! with audio8 didn't work and with out them neither, just some buttons, but not properly the vdj 6.1.2 version was awesome compare with this one. So i returned the tracktor one.

well i see that you said that you help some body with his set up on cdjs 350s. would you mind help me out with this please Dj? or anyone from pioneer services. i'm a big fan of pioneer brand doesn't matter if is in home, car, or dj. i love them, but this time i really disappointment.  I had been working just with usb and cds basicly since i bought the cdjs, trusting that i was going to be able to used a dj software with them. Sad thing ah!! =-(

i just like to use them with my computer and a dj software properly, because most of my music is store in my computer!

THANKS in advance, Dj Mike.

Okay, so what is it you DO have?  Your last post said something about returning the Traktor one ... please list out what it is that you still have and what you're trying to connect.

I have Traktor Scratch Pro 1.2.6; I got the software again so I could keep trying to set it up with my CDJ's. I don't have an external sound card, I would like to use the internal sound card that Pioneer claims is supposed to work with any software. If you could help I would greatly appreciate it; I have been trying to set this up for over a year. I am really disappointed with Pioneer at the moment; I thought I would be able to plug and play and a year later I still have not been able to do this. I want to use all the functions of the CDJs and if that means using a different software thats fine. If there is another software you recommend, I am willing to consider it.

I believe that you'll need to upgrade from 1.2.6 to the newest version (not necessarily 2.x, but whatever the newest version available for 1.x was prior to update).  Give that a try first, then run the setup wizard for use with the CDJ-350 and/or import the TSI file.

i have the CDJ 350's and the DJM 350 and i use it with traktor pro 2 and it works perfectly for me... the only problems i had were occasionaly when i connected it the decks would be playing out the worng channel or both playing out one channel, but this was just a case of changing the output routing settings. im not to sure what you mean by you changed it from MIDI mode to CD mode and it stopped working ? are you saying you wanted to use CD's while monotoring it all through traktor?

And try contacting the Native Instruments product support. they have helped me quite a few times now and reply usualy within a day ... so try that

Hey Alex,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm going to have another crack this weekend with it. My issue was that it was only playing out one channel.. Which output routing settings do you use? That may fix my problem (I hope!). I don't want to use CDs either - don't mind that part of the query.

Looking forward to your reply!

@Edward > On the Mac, you need to aggregate the soundcards of the CDJs if you're using them for output; if you're using the Audio6, you assign that for your outputs and you won't have them only playing out one channel.
