@Richie > I recommend using Seagate drives too, especially given that you've had a good user experience already.
I use the Go-Flex drives - http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/external/external-hard-drive/
Can anyone recommend 1TB HDD that works nicely (from experience) with the CDJ2000? I'm presently using a 500GB Seagate External Drive which is actually working really well.
I've heard I have to watch out for data lag and drives going into standby/sleep. Not had any of these probs yet but please enlighten me if you know of anything I should.
Thanks

Thanks for the info Gavin. I'm chuffed to bits with my 2000's, mixing is tight too. So I'm gonna sit on the 4.04 firmware for now as I'm not getting the Tempo drift like at the show.
I'll probably grab one of these from Seagate. Do they run well considering they don't have their own power supply?
Buy a hard drive that has a CONSTANT spin (revolution). It doesn't matter whether it's internal or external; 15000 rpm, 7200 rpm or 5400 rpm.
Normally, hard drives that are packaged without its rated speed printed in the box are the ones that go to standby/sleep after few minutes of in-activity.
I just bought the whole system djm 2000 with cdj 2000, I have all my music on a external hard drive but when I plug it into my cdj, it did not regonize it. I was reading up on it and it states to format to 32 and or have a powered hard drive!
@Richie > You should see external powered drives also on that page (to the right of the page)... Go with those.
@Henry > please start your own thread for any issues you may have but yes, you need to format your drive to FAT32 (bus powered / AC powered).
@Gavin so are USB powered HDD not recommended?
@GlasEye2 I'm assuming the drive I have at the moment has a constant spin as it doesn't seem to go to sleep.
You will definitely hear a clicking and the diminishing sound of the spindle/platter when the HDD powers down to a standby mode. Same when it powers up when you access or save a file into it.
