After using my decks for a couple of days 3 hours each day I found a couple of flaws I'm pretty sure are CDJ related
- One of the decks the platter is bang on accuracy when scratching, the other will lose its place while scratching at a desired point, for ex; if I choose to scratch a section of a beat/word I'll place my hand at 9:00 position on the jog wheel I'll start scratching and after say 10-15 seconds my hand will end up at 12:00 while scratching at the same point and if I were to move my hand back to the 9:00 position (without taking my hand off the jog wheel) it would be off.
This is while using Serato I haven't tried it with USB or CD yet but the thing is the other deck doesn't have the same issue.
- I do allot of Weddings, I bought these CDJ's mainly because if something happens to my Lap Top I can quickly switch to my USB drive without missing a beat. In order to do this I have ch 1 & 2 dedicated to HID/ Serato via USB cable and CH 3 & 4 dedicated to USB Drive via RCA (my backup).
When all these cables are hooked up to my mixer I get Awful static and what seems to be an electrical grounding issue, if I unhook the RCA cables it goes away, if I leave the RCA cables in and unhook the USB cables it goes away if all cables are plugged in the mixer static comes back. Because this sound is so bad I have to leave my RCA's unplugged which is a PITA if I ever need to use my USB during a gig.
Oh and as mentioned before in another thread I would have thought between Rane/Serato and Pioneer someone would have figured out how to enable slip mode while using Serato, both companies had the innovation to create the software & hardware of 2 wonderful products so there is no excuse.
