I use the djm2k & 2 cdj2k's and feel like that when i 've used them ,It is a impressively easy system to use and shows pedigree , as the years have rolled on the kit is better and tighter Great Stuff ! Great Sound too !
I was thinking last night and discussing with a friend of mine who was the MC while rocking a huge party just how awesome and fun this setup is, 2-cdj2000's and a DJM900 'LINKED" to RB on my laptop, As much as we complain about features we want or things that may not work 100% the way we want, These decks, still almost 3 years later, Are still so much fun to work on and still rock solid instead of just having them control Serato and follow waveforms like I see so many guys do,
anyway, just figured i'd post a positive article for once :) Keep up the great work Pioneer

I have a pair of CDJ 2000s, combined with a Denon X1600 mixer, a set of QSC KW 122 speakers, as well as a set of QSC KW 181 subs. I just use Rekordbox! I constantly get comments on the quality of sound coming through the speakers.
I was a bit alarmed when I bought my players in January 2011 and saw the errors in the forums, but Pioneer has worked to rectify them. I am a 100% WAV file DJ. As long as you stick to WAV and analyze your tracks, you are fine. These are top of the line.
Positive commentary... So damn beautiful.

my most disturbing experiences on recent gigs as a serato itch dj was how herectic it felt to just push aside awesome cdj 2000 setups to plug my twitch into a djm2000 / 900 and not using the cool features (i did tend to use eq, filters and fx on the dims though, so not so bad)
as much fun as i have using twitch as a performance tool i always got out feeling i would have loved to get back to my roots and just used the house cdj + djm setup
not to mention how happy i would be just to take my headphones and couple usb / sd drives instead of laptop + twitch + preamp + power suply + cables
Did anyone use the cdj500mk2 and a djm500 back then ?(miss the pan effect!) I still got mine, think about the latencey and the loop system back then to what we can do with Pio gear now we shouldn't complain so much but that's progress LOL ! I'm with Mike about the WAV files I don't/haven't suffered the problems either( don't use artwork either) , I still enjoy the art of mixing in it's more raw style track on track/s and Pioneer cater for all nowdays ,happy daze .
i did!
on my first ever gig (back in 97) i was introduced to this young kid that was rocking on this alien piece of gear (djm500+cdj500)
i was so impressed with it i went the next week to a local pioneer dealer, only to be utterly crushed by the first contact with pioneer pro gear prices
as time went by i was introduced to the several cdj 500 incarnations, cdj 700...
the loop functionality used to be pretty terrible and dangerous
ps: all this talk about wav files being more reliable, is this compared to compressed mp3 or uncompressed aiff files (with tags and artwork) ?
My philosophy is the more you keep your eyes on the crowd (and off the laptop screen) the better ;) Cheers Rekordbox (proper) users! :)
Thanks for your support too, maDJam!
Yes I am old school, rocking the two cdj2000s and a djm900 export to usb via my win7 desktop, and take those with me. Couple years exp of me mixing/playing like that, then I might think about software that does it for me.
Computer DJ'ing is basically not my thing :).
It only requires you to have a USB stick in your pocket and some in ear monitors and you are always ready (I'm still one of those who carry arround a CD bag though...)
I have been using the CDJ200's now for 2 years week in week out along with a DJM 700 they have never missed a beat. Awsome piece of kit, easy to use.
I would marry them if it was legal :-)
@Sammy > Make the migration to USB sticks or SD cards. Your back will thank you in 10+ years time.
@SonicDJ > Thanks for that awesome feedback!
im making the switch :D I may sell my SL4 soon. LOL!
I have had my DJM2000 and CDJ2000 for about 3 years now and i am so happy with them . I have been a DJ for almost 25 years started with SL1210 whent to Serato - Abliton - Traktor but now i feel like i am home again even when i whas djing yesterday i tested the night with Traktor 2,5,1 cdj setup and after 20 minutes i unplugd the computer hehehe.
