[CLOSED] e-8309 link access error on cdj2000nexus
I keep getting this e-8309 link access error many times when i fast forward or reverse most tracks
I use recordbox 2.0.2 on my window7 laptop 2 cdj2000nexus (1.06) djm 900 nexus
sisco small business SD205 switch
already turned off firewall antivirus and internet connection ,but still same problem.
what is this problem I see more people have this problem but no real solution so far???

IT IS A REKORDBOX PROBLEM. CAN'T DO ANY SEARCH FUNCTIONS, AND DECKS TAKE FOREVER TO LOAD THEN FREEZE WHILE USING RB. BETTER HAVE A USB STICK HANDY WHILE YOU ARE USING RB LIVE.

YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE, I AM WAITING JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE MY ETHERNET SWITCH... WHICH DOESN'T EVEN REMOTELY MAKE SENSE, AS THE DECKS WORK PERFECTLY USING USB ANS STILL COMMUNICATE VIA THE SWITCH REGARDLESS IF RB IS UTILIZED OR NOT. EITHER WAY, I COULD NOT... WOULD NOT USE RB IN A LIVE SETTING. I HAVE BEEN EMBARRASSED BY IT TWICE.
Ok I've just tried a another giga switch now from somebody who uses it for cdj2000 without problems,but for me it doesn't change a damm thing its frustating now

Hopefully they are overhauling RB and will get it more features and be stable. I really want to use it like I would Traktor or Serato like a music library. Putting music on a USB is getting to be a bit too much. I would rather have access to all my tunes with my laptop and RB. I would also like the scroll knob on the cdjs scroll on RB on my laptop like traktor and serato. Not just on the CDJ.
I think "hopefully" was the operative word. I agree USB can be a real PITA when doing private events when you need access to a vast library. Kind of sad that you spend $6k on a new setup, yet wish you still have your $1k controller still... cause it was more stable. SMH
all they had to do was allow a usb keyboard to be plugged in so you can search/type fast, sad it cant be done yet the competition is far ahead in this area
I've updated recordbox to 2.0.3 and still I get this error :(((((
For all those who have the famous error e-8309, it is not a firewall problem or other swith only problem with Rekordbox some mp3 files.
Indeed, some files works without any problems while others do not load, go in loop emergency, etc ...
After multiple tests and analyzes, some attached files in stereo join mode (I use the program to see the mp3 tag information), bad year tag (wrong format) or copyright problem.
Warning converter can not solve everything, Audacity allows me to recreate a new file by deleting some fields (such as copyright)
If Pioneer can contact me to send them to MP3 files for example causing this error restore in the future version of Rekordbox ...

It was not meant in a negative way Projectsoft, I appreciate your input. I just don't think it is a problem with the mp3 files, as it will work one minute, and not the next.

Gavin, here's the situation : yes I've updated to 2.0.3 and yes the error still happens with most tracks
I've tried to recreate a new files with audacity and most times this really helps ,allthough its rediculous that I need to do this ,it should just work always.
Here are other steps I've tried changing the switch with a 1 gig switch still the same problem

I called the store and they told me that they have more customers with this problem with the cdj2000nexus....SO ??????????
Can it be some type of codexes???or settings with the internal networkcard???
I have same issue, I cant help but notice that a track which wont load through link, will then load from an sd card. Its the same track from the same computer but loaded onto an SD card, ironically by rekord box...!! so the question I ask as does everybody, WHY..? Im with you john.. I have re-built and changed audio files and sometimes it does fix the problem for that track... but really..? should I need to do this..? The track plays on the computer, it plays in my car, it plays on my boat, it plays on my phone, I can email it to work and it plays on my desktop there....... but it wont play on a $2000 + Pioneer top of the range pro dj player..!!?? WHYYYYYYYY..?
I admit it most likely a network glitch... but pioneer should have been able to suggest a fix to this by now.. and by the way.. yess I have the latest software blah blah blah..
So I just got this link access error too, WTF!!!! Mid set, I had the iPad connected to a deck, linked to another also, playing about an hour. Switched to another usb flash drive i had plugged into the other deck to play a few tracks and maybe 4 tracks in, got the error and the deck was completely locked up, had to reboot it which sucked because that was the deck linked playing the track on the other deck. Once again i had to quick jump into "roll" mode on the DJM900 so i can reboot the decks... This is the 4th time this happened to me.
It seems to always happen when i use multiple media like this, The first time I was using RB on my laptop linked, played a track from my phones RB app, then went to play another track from laptop RB and got the error and complete lockup.
Very unreliable at this stage to switch around media or use the iPad RB app
Check the other thread regarding the error MSG... for all you PC users. It is a NIC issue with Realtek, possibly other network cards as well.

Have experienced this several times, with a number of errors, including E-8309, E-8305, E-8306 and so on...
Having read the above thread, which says that certain NFS softwares can prevent Rekordbox functioning, I found this to be the case (so far!) with Win7's own built in NFS. In the past few minutes I've went from not being able to forward or reverse or scratch tracks without my 900s bitching out on me... to being able to scrub, scratch, play and load tracks fairly seamlessly.
In case you're wondering how to do it...
Network & Sharing Center > Advanced Sharing Options (on the left) > Switched off 'File & Printer Sharing' and also Media Streaming (as I read somewhere else that media streaming can cause problems with ProLINK) on both Home and Public networks.
As I say, I've only done this in the last few minutes. When I restarted Rekordbox though, Windows Firewall (which is disabled on my machine) still asked me if I wanted to allow RB to use my network connection - obviously checking Yes. If anyone can give this a shot and let me know if it does anything for them, as I'm in the process of writing to a few friends - DJ and tech journalists in the UK - to have them make a fuss on behalf in a more public form about Pioneer's poor efforts with ProLINK. =)
That said, still think Pioneer need to get their finger out and have a more robust solution, as now I can't use file sharing on my home network. =(
More so, I'm still wary about playing with RB live... once is enough for my CDJs to bitch out on me half way through a set!!
Knew I spoke waaaayy too soon. After about 20 minutes, everything went down again mid-set.
Would seem everything on this thread has proved helpful; about how the issue is common in Realtek network cards:
Think I may go ahead and get myself a USB network card to see if it changes anything.

Nonetheless, will be in touch with Pioneer. I have 8 machines in my house, all with Realtek cards in them, so I suspect it's not much of a minority of ProLINK users affected. Why the hell their techy guys behind RB aren't reading these threads is beyond me!
