You'll need a hardware upgrade because of the touch screen (i.e. Sync button), but otherwise it should be possible.
In generel the display could use a complete redesign...

See the attached picture.
I know this is a mock-up image (I first saw it just before the 2000nexus release), but would a future firmware enable this or
would there need to be a hardware update (new CDJ), if this could ever happen at all?

Yea, not interested in the touch screen aspect, just the display in general.
