It's been a long time coming, but the engineers were finally able to find the cause and solution for this issue! An upcoming firmware update will contain a fix for it. Thanks for your patience!
Hello, I'm using CDJ 2000s, and just updated the firmware to version 4.33, and strange new thing is occurring. When I use the Needle Search function, the position jumps from where I touch the pad. If I touch momentarily, it jumps slightly away from where I touch the pad. If I "scroll" (move my finger along the pad), the position tends to jump a bigger distance from where I let go. Is this a known issue? Thanks.

Can you shoot a video? I understand what you're describing but want to pass along a video to the engineers.
sure, here's a link to download a video I shot: http://we.tl/3W3YQP0JzP
actually I posted that link a bit soon, wetransfer is still processing the file, you may need to wait a few minutes
check the file try, I have seen this with VBR MP3 files, Being they are VBR the player cannot process and buffer the part you are trying to get to quick enough before you let go, Confirm the track is CBR, not VBR and try again
***check the file "type"
Yeah, that is odd - and @BriChi is right, it might be a VBR or poorly encoded MP3. Is that the only track it does it with? Can you post that track here?
I don't think it's the file type, for a couple reasons. One, prior to my update of the CDJ 2000s' firmware, I didn't experience this issue. Secondly, I'm experiencing it with all my tracks, which, to the best of my knowledge are all CBR. They are all 320 kbps/44.1k mp3 and none of them indicate VBR in the iTunes file info. Pulse, can I privately share with you the track that is in the video? That track is a remix I did that is commercially available, and I don't think the label would want me sharing it publicly. Thanks.
@Tim > I understand - if you could send it to me at djpulse (the usual at thing) mixaddicts (and then that usual dotcom thing), I'll check it and send it to the engineers to check as well.
Pulse, thanks so much for letting me know. I'm really happy about that! Is there a way I can enable a notification of when this firmware update is available? Thanks, Tim
We try to update the forum news / drivers section, but that's not always the case - but if you check here, we often post updated drivers as well.
OK, thanks. I was hoping for some kind of automatic notification, but I realize that's asking a bit to much, haha! Anyway, I'm really happy to hear about the fix in the upcoming firmware update. Thanks again!
Just for clarification, the update that was mentioned will be for the CDJ-2000NXS, an update for the CDJ-2000 (original) is not planned yet.
