[CLOSED] Jog Wheels XDJ Aero

Hi is there any way to make the jog wheels change to jog mode instead of vinyl mode like on the pioneer cdj u can switch it from vinyl mode to cdj mode as I have found it is very easy to touch the top of the job wheel and make the track stop or rewind by accident, I never use the vinyl mode on my cdj for this reason i turn it on if i want to do a rewind then instantly turn it off again.

I think a feature like this needs to be implemented to disable the super-sensitive platters, even if a stutter cue feature is not implemented, it would still be nice to have the option disable the vinyl mode so that it is only active when a track is paused (for cueing purposes)

The majority of EDM DJ's hardly use vinyl mode, and prefer CDJ mode for more accurate cueing and full use of the platter for pitch bending

just practice not being clumsy with your hands.. its a skill that comes in handy when preforming in front of crowds as there are more buttons etc to disrupt than just the jog wheel.

I was used to the CDJ mode aswell but now I love the Vinylmode on the Aero.. It takes some effort getting used to indeed..

I completely agree with you Mike, yes less clumsy is always a wise idea. Ronn, I love the vinyl mode too, the emulation is so accurate, but there are times when i wish you could just turn the thing off. While using the AERO one night the jogwheels became super senesitive (static?) and i was able to hover my hand 2cm over the jogwheel and pause the music. The next day i turned it on at home, it was working fine.

Its just such a simple feature that could easily be implemented into the menu, wouldn't even require a button. The bottom line is that with such a feature, people who prefer to manipulate the entire jog wheel to pitchbend are happy because they can turn off the vinyl emulation, and those who prefer the vinyl are also happy because they can just leave the vinyl setting turned on and continue doing what they do.

I just dont understand how such an advanced piece of technology can lack such features that players 6 years ago had (cdj-400).

Deano, I agree to be able to switch it off would be nice. Luckily I'm used to pitchbend using the sides of the jog, so for me it is no issue.

Well you forgot about the CDJ 800mk1 having this functionality since November 2002, that's almost 11 years ago ;-p
