DDJ-SX Vinyl Mode

Vinyl Mode is not allowing me to scratch. If I repeatedly attempt to scratch i get some response here and there. Have tried multiple MacBooks, multiple USB cables. Running El Capitan, latest Serato DJ update along with latest Pioneer Firmware.

Are all of the MacBooks you tried running El Capitan?

Were you having this issue before upgrading to El Capitan?

Ok, so we know the issue is NOT, the MacBooks, El Capitan or the USB cable.

Please try all of the following:

1.  On the front of your DDJ-SX you have two sensitivity knobs. Set these to 12 o'clock

2.  Try a different USB port.

3. Try setting up your DDJ-SX in another room using another power socket.

Let me know how this goes.

Tried all those and still same issue. I had already tried to adjust the sensitivity knobs and different USB Ports along with Cables.

What version firmware are you using and does the issue happen at the beginning of the track or all over the tracks?

Firmware is Version 1.07, issue is happening at all points in the track.

None of the suggested solutions worked, still have the same problem.

If none of the proposed solutions worked, it sounds like this may be hardware problem. As is it an SX, I'm assuming it no longer under manufacturer warranty.  If you purchased an extended warranty from your retailer and the unit is still covered, you may want to file a claim.  Another option is to bring your SX to a Pioneer DJ Authorized Repair Center.  To find one near you go to: http://www.pioneerdj.com/en-us/support/service-centres/

I bought a DDJ SX and it developed the same issue. I found a cure for mine, you hold a finger and thumb at 12 and 6 oclock firmly on the top of the platter and move it back and forth a few times as if performing a really smooth baby scratch. Worked instantly for me and its never done it since. I know this is 3 years later but maybe this will help someone else who buys one 2nd hand.
