Just curious, what is your MFD date on your mixer. Which states on the bottom?

I am disappointed with the pioneer, and to think I almost bought a Rane 62.

The face plate appears to be fine.  All I see are a few nicks on the fader cap.  You're disappointed with the entire mixer just because your fader cap is a little scratched?  This didn't happen on the DJM-800 or DJM-900nexus because they had black fader caps.  The S9 has silver painted fader caps. If the faceplate does start to chip/fade, you will qualify for a free replacement faceplate.  Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about a scratched fader cap.

the mixer is excellent, very good, I just think that the pioneer should do a recall of the caps of faders and change silver to black and change the face plate for a tough as the 900 nexus, if you say that I will get a replacement face plate while wearing feel safer, a note I live in Brazil.

Hi Mark, has Pioneer shipped out a new batch of S9 mixers to stores that has this paint issue resolved? If so, is there way we can tell before buying mixers at stores like Guitar Center? 

Yes, we have resolved the issue.  It was a flaw in the manufacturing process.  Only the initial run was affected.  You should try to buy the most recently manufactured unit.  Check the serial number sticker on the side of the box for the manufacture date.

Mark could you possibly send me a new face plate with updated paint, can I send mine to the analysis of its engineers by fabriaçao date of my s9 know that the plate will have problems, it also sends the serial number.

So, how can I tell by manufacture date? After which month/year is manufacture date for the updated mixers?

My faceplate also has the same defects mentioned. I'll be keen to get a replacement faceplate once an announcement is made. Until then, I'm going to keep on rocking the S-9! Loving the mixer btw. I've been a hardcore Rane man for over a decade. Pioneer nailed it with this one. 

I just received an S9, haven't even used it yet and just found out about this. Starting from which manufacturing date has the issue been corrected?

I think the pioneer has to send free of charge a new face plate and knob to everyone who had this kind of problem, it is a device with very high value. I'm waiting for a solution

I tend to bite my nails so I don't have that problem, unfortunately my issue with the mixer is a bit bigger than just aesthetics, I have a huge sound glitch issue where the mixer sends out a strong feedback noise even when volume faders are down. I started my own post on that issue and hopefully it's something they resolve soon.

I am also waiting, my and November 2015.

I brought this to their attention 6 whole months ago, with video, yet they still keep using a silver finish on the knobs, knowing it is a stupid decision for such a high use area.

Black knobs + laminate over the plate and none of this would be happening, but "be patient."

"We are still developing a way to take care of affected customers" = "We are going to drag this on until those first customers finally get over it." 

 My mixer is fine but I need to get my face plate replace!!

where can I buy a new faceplate and pot cap crossfader?

@mark pioneer. It's been 4 months since you said that you were announcing soon a solution to the faceplate drama.  What has been done?
