That's no surprise, unless those players can be recognized as USB devices, they are not supported by the CDJ-850.
I've just got a couple of 850s and sorted out my tracks through rekordbox and moved them to a couple of mp3 players. I am using mp3 players which have a mini b to a lead. I cannot getbeitherbof my players to read the USB, the mp3 players light up as though being read but no USB light onnthevplayer and no USB presence detected. Please help guyz!

Hi pulse, they say in the manual that they recognise portable audio players. But for some reason not these. I'm wondering maybe its because the mp3 players are attached by cables the cdjs think they're on a hub?
Yes, MP3 players can be supported devices if they are able to connect via USB as a "mass storage" type device. If they only communicate via MTP (media transfer protocol) or PTP (photo transfer protocol), their storage contents can't be accessed by the CDJ.
Thanks pulse, sorted the issue using your advice.
Did the MP3 player have a mode switch?
No they were just bog standard driverless mp3 players, its OK tho now I've done away with them and am using memory sticks which work fine. Cheers tho.
