EQ's are not working when I connect my interface with XDJ-XZ

Hello,

I recently added my Scarlett 4i4 focusrite to my DJ setup as I wanted my recordings to be of higher quality. I connected my Adam t5v to the focusrite, and I connected the focusrite to my macbook pro. I also connected the XDJ-XZ to my MacBook. I can play my music via the volume faders and my loops, cues and play buttons also work. The problem is that I can't use my EQs, filters and effects. How can I solve this?

Thanks

  1. XDJ-XZ Setup: Set the mixer mode to Hardware to ensure EQs and effects are applied.
  2. Scarlett 4i4 Connection: Connect the master output of the XDJ-XZ to the Scarlett’s line inputs to capture the processed audio.
  3. DJ Software: Route the deck audio back to the XDJ-XZ for processing, then send the final master output to the Scarlett for recording.
  4. MacBook Audio Settings: Set the XDJ-XZ as the primary audio device for input/output in both your software and system preferences.

That's a frustrating setup issue! It sounds like your XDJ-XZ is primarily acting as a MIDI controller in that configuration, sending button commands but not audio directly. You might need to configure your DJ software to route audio through the XDJ-XZ's audio interface and then into your Focusrite for recording. It's a bit of a faff but should get your effects working. Also, if you're looking for a fun, simple game while you're troubleshooting, try Eggy Car – a good distraction!
