I'm cross posting this to both the Pioneer and Ableton forums.
I'm having a problem with Ableton Live 9 Lite where connecting a Pioneer DJM-900nxs2 mixer as the sound output stops all midi keyboards from working.
Specifically, the moment you select the DJM900nxs2's ASIO driver as the sound output, any instruments in Ableton cease receiving midi signals from connected keyboards.
This happens for multiple midi devices including an M-Audio Keystation 88, a Korg NanoKEY2 and a Launchpad. The midi receive light (top-right in Live) still flashes when you press a key on the midi keyboards but it's not received by any of the instruments.
If you switch to a different sound output (e.g. the PC's internal audio), or any other ASIO output, it starts working fine again.
This occurs on Windows 10 x64, with the latest versions of Live 9 Lite, DJM-900nxs2 ASIO drivers and and DJM900nxs2 firmware (latest versions as of 2018-03-18), while running the 64-bit version of Live.
The workaround is to revert to the 32-bit version of Live where it works fine with the identical configuration.
Given this would be a pretty popular club setup (i.e. plug your laptop into the USB input of DJM900nxs2 to use it as a soundcard while performing with Live) it would be great if Pioneer and Ableton could give this some focus and fix it.
Note this may be the same problems as reported here https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115000237503-DJM-900-nexus-ASIO-MIDI-bug-with-Ableton-Live and here https://www.ableton.com/answers/problems-using-live-with-djm-900-nexus-2.
So, what say you Ableton and Pioneer? Can you fix this please?
