Hi, I have my pair of Chauvet Rotosphere Q3's linked via RB-DMX1 to my Rekordbox Lighting but they won't rotate, they are set to Ch19 and connected correctly with the right DMX channels for each, they flash and change colour correctly according to the macro settings in Rekordbox Lighting but they just won't rotate.
Please tell me how to get them rotating? What am I doing wrong???
Rotation is not a parameter currently supported within rekordbox. We hope that in future updates additional lighting fixture types / functions are supported. Thank you for your patience.
Hi Pulse,
Thanks for the speedy response.
May I ask why not? It shows ROTATE on the Macros set up and even has a Rotation Speed Selection so why is it not functional yet?
Do you know when this function will be available? Seems ridiculous to have the CHAUVET ROTOSPHERE Q3's listed (since way back in 2018) yet they don't rotate still??
Sorry, what I meant was - the rotation function is supported, but not for all fixtures in all modes. While the fixture is correctly identified as an effect-type, it could simply be that particular fixture is not fully rekordbox supported.
There are thousands of fixtures on the database (which is provided by Atlabase), but not all of them will work or have features available within rekordbox.
OK, so are you saying that out of the long list of PAR lights, BAR lights, Moving Heads, etc etc I should be selecting EFFECT 1 or EFFECT 2 (does it make a difference) ?
And if I select those two options and it still doesn't rotate the lights who's responsibility is it to fix this? Is there someone else I can be speaking to to try and get them to fix it so they rotate?
Thanks again for coming back to me so quickly.
Nope, I'm the best guy to speak with -- I'll ask our lighting engineer.
Have you tried not using the 19ch mode?
I will try this now.... I'm assuming on the EFFECT 1 mode?
OK I've just tried both 9ch and 3ch modes with the appropriate Rotosphere Fixture selection and tried them both on EFFECT 1 and EFFECT 2 and no change, they flash and change colour but no rotation....
Pulse would you be up for a phone call to discuss this? email me a number to call you on and I'll ring you if you are happy to do so, I'll talk you through the weird settings to see if you know what's wrong...
