Xdj-rx2 fader issue

I've owned 2 Xdj rx2 already and always stick to pioneer products
I have crossfader issues.
When you mix, ( put fader in the middle ) it brings the volume down a decibel or 2
I know someone done a thread regarding this but I don't think his point was put across correctly
I've also own the 1st xdj rx
This problem isnt there what so ever!!! No volume change
Pulse said before its a hardware issue it's on a 3 step curve and also mentioned the rx1 was the same
Well it's not the same
And the reason the first thread was created ia becase the curve over lapse

Any fix for this please ?
Is there an adjustment pod inside the unit? Anything I can mod on this unit to make it work as it should ? The rx2 is a deal breaker for me if this issue can't be solved

As posted before, and outlined in the documentation, you need to assign a channel to the crossfader within the rekordbox crossfader (in the mixer section) in order for the crossfader on the RX2 to function as you are expecting.

The fader curve follows the hardware switch position (as noted above).

There's only 3 on thIis unit, through, cut, and cross fade
The only one that works without effcong the volume is cut
Its very noticeable if you try for yourself
I have bother units avd the rx1 dose not do this
And I fear it is a massive hardware flaw that can't be amended

The volume should only get effecting on the opisitie side after the fader is placed over the half way point but it's like turning down the vplume on the master as you place the fader in the middle

That's how it should work...

THRU - the crossfader is disabled
X - the volume fades down such that it decreases on curve
SQUARE - a sharp cut at each end with consistent volume across the entire travel

If you're using the X, there is an expected volume change in the middle.

So it's supposed to turn the volume down a couple decibels? So how comes the rx1 didn't do that ? Is it a different curve ?

A little volume change is understandable but it's very noticeable

Yes, it's supposed to dip the volume - that is the intended function of that curve; if you have two tracks playing at full-open channel fader, their individual levels are not at 100% with the crossfader at the middle so their combined audio signal would be less likely to cause clipping.

@Mark > Check the crossfader assignments within the rekordbox mixer.

Do you mean within the software or the controller's hardware .And to answer Dazman Smith the crossfader is Not functioning in either position.

I also prefered an adjustable cross fader setting such as on the ddj sr.Just my preference.

It does, you just need to assign it within the software as previously mentioned.

@Mark > That's because it's controlled by the hardware itself -- look on the face of the unit:

Perhaps i am not being clear so i will re-explain my issue. If i play off of a usb drive the switch(crossfadercurve) functions as it should. If i play off of my pc(rekordbox dj) the switch(crossfader curve)Remains in the thru position Regardless of which curve i set it to.Now how do i Solve this issue pls?

When using rekordbox dj(pc) it switches to midi ,when using thumb drive i may switch to xdj rx2

Personally mark, my issue is hardware related but yours sounds software related
I'd reinstall rekordbox "and" drivers, maybe update the unit via usb extract the zip file and follow the steps
Put to USB stick formatted in fat32
Ideally by hp formatter
Try the first bit first if settings curve greyed out

Updating the unit requires a fair few steps but easy enough

That's what i thought as well, was hoping for an easy fix.I will leave it as is i really don't care for the two crossfader curves they should have a knob as the others do and let me control the peak via filters as i have always done.Plus i don't know if rekordbox will keep all my files and cue points like serato does.

If i delete and re-install rekordbox will all my files and cue points remain like with serato or will i have to start over.

If you go to the top left somewhere in rekordbox should be back up library you will be prompt to back up music files as well but that's not nessesery
Save the backup to somewhere local like desktop then do the delete of rekordbox and re
Install latest version but make sure you know your licence keys
Restore library and search via the record box app to find the file that you put on the desktop
Not sure if that makes sense but had simular problem once think I sorted it in some settings
Any way good luck mate

Having hardware issues, was switching back and forth between decks 1&2 (media)and line 1&2(cdj 1000s for cd playback) at first everything was fine than i noticed the effects on the mixer weren't functioning with line 1&2 than started having issues with deck 2 when using effects knob as well it would suddenly play a loud screetch type of noise.Should i re-load the latest version of rekordbox?
