Loss of link resets tempo

From time to time the CDJ's in clubs have a spotty link connection, they should of course get serviced but in reality you often feel quite smart bringing more than one USB. I like to tempo sync, quickly set the tempo of the next track by double tapping the sync button, and then work with the jog wheel. But if the link cuts out the tempo immediately gets reset to where the slider is, unlike the normal behavior where you have to "pick up" the tempo. This also applies when the player goes in the emergency loop. It would be quite neat if the players retained the tempo even at a loss of network connection.

The workaround is easy, just match the tempo displayed on screen as a safety measure, but I wouldn't complain if this was implemented.

If the link cuts out, you should check the cables or ports on the players.

I'll pass along the comment to our product team.

I'm pretty sure this happens on all linkable models with master / sync, 900 NXS, 2000 NXS and 2000 NXS2. Could be wrong about the 900 NXS.

Thanks - I figured you'd know, but wasn't sure if maybe it was just on an older player. ;)

Hey Henrik, following up on this old topic as I was digging through old tickets... when I tested this I couldn't figure it out as the tempo would always remain the same when the link was lost (thus entering an emergency loop), until I re-read that one line "double tapping the sync button."

Of course, when this happens, the deck isn't actually in sync with the other player. But now when the link was dropped, the track goes into emergency loop... and even worse, not only is the sync dropped, but the pitch value jumps to where the pitch fader is. #disasterous

I've passed this to our CDJ engineers for review (and hopefully a fix)!

Wunderbar! Normally its not the end of the world but if you lose the link while mixing its an instant train wreck.

Yeah, a bit more testing with USB drives in the player that WAS sync'd found no emerg. loop but it did jump pitch, which could be a massive problem with two tracks live and one jumping a big % change.
