DJM450 - Bad audio recording through Rekordbox

Hi guys,

I'm getting a consistent crackling sound on all of my recorded mixes through Rekordbox.

Using an XDJ700 and DJM 450 set up, with the 450 plugged into my laptop via USB. After googling, the general consensus appears to be that if you increase the buffer size on the 450's input settings (within Rekordbox), this noise should disappear. Unfortunately, this has not been the case for me, and even on maximum buffer size I am still getting the crackling noise.

I have also tried adjusting the registry as per this article - https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-april-update-audio-issues/

Specs:

  • Lenovo T495
  • Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U 2.10GHz
  • 8gb RAM
  • 256GB SSD

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I note you're using an AMD processor, which is unfortunately not supported. That's the likely cause of your crackling audio. Sorry!

Hi Pulse,

Thanks for your response

Could you advise on what options I have as a result? Bar borrowing someone else's laptop and installing Rekordbox.

If I was to get an external recorder, what are the things I need to make sure of?

Thanks
