Microsoft opens exFAT: soon support for CDJ players...?

Microsoft has started opening up exFAT format. Is it possible that we get exFAT support via firmware update to CDJ-2000, CDJ-2000nxs, CDJ-2000nxs2, XDJ-1000, XDJ-1000mk2, CDJ-850 and other players?

It would be about time.

Opening exFAT to the LINUX kernel doesn't mean it's open for anyone to use; see their licensing page. I'm hoping they can consider it for future, but no guarantees at this time.

As for ext4/3/2; those still aren't really supported by other OS's; Mac requires FUSE to do it, Windows needs ext2fsd. And let's not even get into what might be needed for devices like a CDJ to load them.

if not I hope that there will be support for some format which is free to implement for anybody, e.g. ext4, ext3 or ext2.

NTFS read-only support would be nice.  No need to save info to the drive, same as if you're using CDs.
