Distortion in recording DJM-900NXS2

Experiencing distortion in all recordings when using the DJM-900NXS2 mixer.

Currently using the REC OUT via RCA to mini-jack into a Zoom H1n recorder. It seems the signal is coming in too hot from the mixer. Is there a way of attenuating the REC OUT signal? Even if I reduce the TRIM and set an appropriate record level on the recorder, there is still some small distortion. I would like to avoid using this method as obviously people are going to increase the TRIM throughout their set.

I have replaced the recording cable and also tried running the recorder solely on batteries (previously powered by the charging cable that uses the same circuit the mixer and PA's use, thinking it was maybe an electrical issue). Still the same issue.

I have tried removing all settings from the mixer and recorder. Same issue.

Any suggestions? Would really like to attenuate REC OUT level from mixer if possible.

Of course you can change the master out attenuation.

Check DJM 900NXS2 manual page 18 and page 20, "Changing the settings".
