Hi Philippe,
Unfortunately the last supported version of macOS was High Sierra (10.13); there was no release for Mojave or Catalina, and we have no plans to release a driver for Big Sur either.
Hello,
I have an issue when i try to install DJM-T1 drivers from there https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support/software/djm-t1/ on macOS Big Sur 11.0.1.
Can you please give an ETA regarding the update?
Thank you,
Philippe

Having the same issue. What are we supposed to do then, throw away or sell our mixers!?Not something I had planned to do. You would have expected better support from Pinoeer in updating it's drivers to support these mixers.
I completely agree with you Craig. My table works very well and I would really like to continue to use it .. and well no I will have to sell it and go with Native Instrument which updates the drivers at each update of MacOS. Thanks Pioneer!
That's exactly what I was thinking Philippe, I don't want to have to sell it as it's a great 2 channel mixer. But if they are not going to update the drivers then there's no alternative unless I decide to stay on legacy MacOS which I won't since i just bought a new M1 chipped machine. Will have to look at the other alternatives, possibly a NI replacement. Poor show Pioneer, losing customers.
I'm sorry guys, this is an end-of-life product. The DJM-T1 was announced in April of 2011 and discontinued in June of 2013, with the final updates released in December 2016 (for Windows 10). Mojave was released in September 2018, five years after the end of production. If you are using High Sierra or earlier, or Windows 10, the mixer still functions.
I understand your frustration however it's simply not reasonable for Pioneer DJ to continue to support hardware that has been discontinued for so long.
Absolute wastemen. We are stuck without mixers now, i'm off to Rane.
i just make it work on intel Big Sur.
Great, how did you do that? What are the steps? Thank you!
you need tools
- kext-droplet-v2 to install kext manual --> https://github.com/chris1111/Kext-Droplet-Big-Sur/releases/tag/V2
- Pacifist to extract PKG file --> https://www.charlessoft.com/cgi-bin/pacifist_download.cgi?type=zip
- DJM-T1 1.20 Driver
instruction
- first disable SIP --> https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security/disabling_and_enabling_system_integrity_protection
- open DJM-T1 DMG file and use pacifist to open "DJM-T1AudioDriver.pkg" files and extract files in "Contents of tmp.pkg" to desktop (folder 1011 and PioneerDJMSetup.framework).
- copy "PioneerDJMSetup.framework" to "/Library/Frameworks/".
- open kext-droplet application then drag and drop "DJM-T1 USBAudio.kext" and select "LE" button.
- in System Preferences --> Security & Privacy --> General click allow.
- restart your mac and done.
*** DJM-T1 utility cannot open in Big Sur anymore but can select input as Line or Phono from Rekordbox DVS routing setup.
so we just spent about a thousand on a mixer we cant use anymore unless we keep using out dated laptops and cant sell it to no one because they cant use it.......so thats how pioneer does things...
This is really disappointing...
I bought a Native Instruments Z2 quite soon after hearing this news, from my above post, last year & have only just managed to sell my DJM-T1 to a Windows user the other day, It's been a tough battle to sell it asking all interested parties what OS they were using and informing macOS users that it's no longer compatible with newer versions of the OS. I am bitterly disappointed to have let this mixer go at a fraction of the price but won't be making this mistake again with Pioneer.
The "funny" thing is - it is almost working... I upgraded the Mac OS, with the driver still installed... I followed the above instructions with the "kext" thing... The only thing not working is the DVS, can't swich it on (I always had to go to the driver and swich between CD to Phono to activate Phono DVS)... I think it would require Pioneers developers an absolute minimum to fix/upgrade this driver... Come on Pioneer!!!
Okay - just to let anyone interested know... Somehow i made it work with Traktor! The DJM-T1 Fully working controles and Vinyl DVS on a Mac OS Monterey...
It's not to say that it won't work; the DJM-T1 is a driverless product and will continue to function - we just no longer support it.
@Thomas Falkenberg, how did you manage to get Vinyl DVS working on Monterey?
@Napat Intraralak: Thanks for sharing your solution! But do I get it right, it requires a Rekordbox (5) license to have access to DVS Settings?
The driver was already installed when i upgraded to Monterey... I followed Napat Intraralak's instructions above... everything working, except I couldn't open the driver to fix the "vinyl autodetect bug", where I had to switch between CD > Vinyl DVS to activate the Vinyl DVS... So instead I just installed Rekordbox where i can do the switch between CD > vinyl DVS... now my DVS Works in Traktor... but doesn't seem to work in Rekordbox itself (but i don't use it anyway) It's a bit anoying that I need to have Rekordbox installed though just to do this... it's a bit of a workaround but it works
Thanks Thomas, did the upgrade to Monterey as well, so the driver is still installed.
Napat also mentioned the Rekordbox workaround. I installed Rekordbox 5. But the Settings do not offer the DVS section. I started the 30 days trial - then the DVS section is available.
So I guess it requires a license to activate it after the 30 days?
Just want to use Traktor - no problems with workarounds - so using Recordbox to just switch vom CD->Vinyl for the fix would be fine for me.
But buying a license for Recordbox 5 (which seems to be not possible anymore) or a Recordbox 6 subscription to unlock the feature is not what I am willing to do.
Do I get it right, you bought the Recordbox 5 or is it somehow possible to unlock just that setting in the preferences in the free version? If the last one is possible, please tell me how.
No you don't have to buy licence I didn't... you change settings it under DVS in preferences - routing settings only appear while mixer connected tough!
Thank you Thomas! Just using the Recordbox 6 instead of 5 did the trick ;)
Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone was able to apply this workaround on a M1 chip laptop and fresh Monterey OS. I have tried to apply Napat and Thomas's steps but so far, I have been out of luck because the mixer does not appear in Rekordbox preferences to activate DVS and USB controls seems to work in Traktor but audio device show (not connected) like this:
Also, I was never able to get the "Allow" button appearing in System Preferences --> Security & Privacy --> General.
And the driver does appear as blocked in System Info --> Software --> Disabled Software...
I just bough this 2020 Macbook Air just because it seemed the right thing to do with my 2015 Macbook air getting a little outdated but now starting to feel really annoyed as the new one comes with Monterey and M1 chip so nothing seems to work... Not sure if I have to blame Apple or Pioneer for this mass but I really can't believe Pioneer is actually abandoning any customer using the DJM T1 mixer... I meen, it is such a nice piece of equipment and honestly the idea of having to pay $1500 for a new one to do exactly the same old job drives me crazy!
Any help would be incredibly appreciated.
--- Update, still no luck...
So, I just erased the macbook completely to see if the process would work on a fresh OS after enabling the "Anywhere" option in System Preferences using this trick:
https://osxdaily.com/2016/09/27/allow-apps-from-anywhere-macos-gatekeeper/
but that did not change much...
Also, while processing with kext-droplet, I realized the driver installation seems to be blocked by something else because the message I am getting is indicating that the extension needs to be updated and as expected, still no "Allow" button since it was not blocked by security...
But I am still getting the "Disable Software" info saying "No User Consent"... which seems contradicting the error message above.
So at this point I am desperate for a miracle...
