DJM-S9 mixer and Macbook Pro M1 macOS bigSur 11.2 with new pioneer S3 driver issue

Thank you, this link helped my DJM-S9 mixer get recognized by my Macbook pro M1.  The issue I see now is that my performance pads and small pad display are blank and wont light up.  I am using Serato Pro with the latest version.  If i press on the pads the CUE points work, but again no lights on the HOT CUE, ROLL, SLICER, ETC..

Did you ensure that the driver was allowed through security?

Oh, and Serato still hasn't provided a verification on Big Sur, so that could be it...

Yes, the driver was allowed through security.  You're correct, it might be Serato.  I'll wait till they verify, thanks for your help!

I've emailed their support team and will update ya if I hear anything.

hi, I'm just checking your issue as I am having similar. I have a MacBook pro m1 with big sur and have updated the s9 driver and also the s9 firmware. It shows my s9 as connected in the utility but under sound preferences on my mac it is not identified.

I went through the process and out installed with no issues, I also followed the instruction to uninstall and reinstall but still no luck.

I cannot see anything in Security Preferences to allow it.

I've not done it through Serato just by purely connecting the mixer and seeing if it appears in Sound Preferences as an 'audio input'. Am I missing something?

I use the s9 to play vinyl and stream live using OBS. On my previous intel mac the s9 is recognised both in the software and also via the System Preferences - Sound Input but on this M1 mac I cannot identify it in System Preferences or in the OBS software as an Audio Input. Tried Serato just then but it does not connect to s9 either. I am aware serato is not yet compatible but that does not explain my inability to have the s9 recognised.

@Rob > A couple of things...

1) Install the drivers per the instructions here; these are specific to M1 CPUs.

2) Serato will require that you use the public beta for 2.5 otherwise it's still not Big Sur-compatible.

3) OBS may require that you allow it access to the mic in the System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Mic (left) > OBS (right).

Thanks Pioneer followed your prompts and now my m1 MacBook pro identifies my mac and it also is identified in OBS and mac sound preferences.

I have installed the Serato public beta 2.5 and serato also identifies the mixer.

I have no music on the mac yet to test Serato but played vinyl through the s9 and OBS has direct sound from s9, so at least I can do that!
