Did you activate dual deck on the other side (2/4)?

SeguiDJM S11 DUAL DECK PROBLEMS
So I've got deck 1 and 2 loaded. I play deck two, switch deck 2 to deck 3, cue deck 1, and hit dual deck for 3/1. So far no problems. The levels are good, sounds like 2 tracks are now 1. The problems arise when I want to juggle the dual deck and double click 'load' on right hand side/ deck 2 side. One of two undesirable things happen....
1: it doesn't load 2/4 as a dual deck and 4 just keeps playing and is no longer tethered to what is now deck 2.
2: It loads as a dual deck with 2/4 together, but the levels of deck 4 are way higher than deck 3 now, (I guess because the source track <deck 2> is a lot louder than source track <deck 1>). It doesn't retain the levels/balance of the dual deck on the left hand side, which surely it's supposed to, otherwise you could only really use this function with tracks that are the exact same loudness. When I try to adjust trim on right hand side, it doesn't work because deck 4 is so much louder than deck 2 and the trim now controls both as one.
What the hell am I doing wrong? I really hope this is a user error.

Not sure. I assumed double clicking the load button on right hand side would engage dual deck on 2/4, if dual deck of 1/3 is already engaged and playing on left hand side. I've watched a lot of videos and never noticed the dj turning on dual deck on 4 for this result. Just double tap opposite load button of the dual deck that is engaged. Seems like a clunky extra step to take.
So for this particular situation, I think the fix for me was to have dual deck engaged on the left side prior to dropping deck 2 into 3. What I was doing was unloading deck 2 onto 3, and then tapping dual deck. The levels didn't like that, also didn't agree on the right side when I double clicked load for doubles/quadruples. Rearranging those steps on the left side or 1st dual deck has fixed the issue. so far so good.
