Problema after plugging pendrive

Folks,

Since the last time my friend plugged his pendrive in my XDJ-XZ, a notice that all musics are hitting the red light in the equalizer even when all buttons seems flat. I discovered that he set to "NONE" the Headroom config inside "Output Level" of "Mixer" settings. In my rekordbox it was set to -9DB. Now, all pendrives from all my DJ friends are with higher volume even in the headphone like a boost and I dont know how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Turn down the trim. That's basically the "incoming signal level" and it should be adjusted for every song you play. An old 1960's Motown track will have significantly lower signal level than a modern EDM song, thus the need to adjust the trim.

Here you can find a video. Its happening with all musics on flat equalizer. I've been playing these musics for years and I know that they are not doing that.

hehehe... I know how to use TRIM. Thats not the problem. All the musics are reaching the red before the should. I have a DJM 450 with 2 XDJ 700. The same music I'm playing in DJM450+XDJ700 without reaching red, are reaching red on XDJ-XZ. All DJs that are playing in my XDJ-XZ are complaining that its reaching read and that the volume is higher than it should.

When I bought, all my files were playing fine. None of my songs were reach red on flat equalizer config. Now, all of them are. I dont know what happend on my XZ but it appear to have a boost. I trying loading config from my pendrive with different DB atenuator conmfigs but nothing changed.

Any Ideas?

Is there a way to do a reset factory?

Let me try to explain better. Imagine that I pickup 10 of my mp3 that I always used to play. I go to my DJM450+XDJ700, put all equalizer buttons up (lo,mid and hi) and the same with TRIM (put up). When I play, it goes well and dont reach the red with all 10 musics. Imagine that I do it with my friend XDJ-RR, XDJ-RX and even rekordbox on my computer. All the behavior are the same. But when I go to my XDJ-XZ, it reaches the red. If you listing on the headphone, you will see that is distorting a little because there is a boost I dont know why. And it was not like there before.  One of my friends were changing rekordbox configuration. After he play in my XDJ-XZ with his pendrive, this problem started... He told me that he changed the DBs for HEADROOM. But I already changed it in my pendrive and XDJ-XZ does not have this on its options.

The gains on the XZ are more sensitive - simply turn the trim down on the XZ as compared to where you would have the knob on the DJM.

OMG! Please! The same musics were not going red are now going! It was not  like this before! THE HEADPHONE IS DISTORTING EVEN WITH LOW VOLUME! Can you understand that the problem is not related with high volume on TRIM? The problem is: There is a boost that came after my friend plug his pendrive with lots of changes in config

If I cross 25% of TRIM, it reaches the red with the same musics I used to reach 50%!

Ricardo,

You said you know how to use TRIM, but it doesn't sound like you do. If the song is in the red on the channel meters, that means you need to turn it down. The headphone and master volume are separate of that.

Yes, as noted the XZ has a more sensitive trim!

I would point out that the SX3 has a similar difference from the SX2; the gain was increased due to the demand of DJs. If you had the trim knob at 11 o'clock to get 0dB on the SX2, you would be below the 9 o'clock position on the SX3 for equivalent levels.

Maybe you are not reading what I'm typing: Why the same musics I was playing before with all equalizer flat without red lights are now going to red?

and even when I put 9PM, without red sign on the leds, my headphone is distorting, even with low volume on it.

No... its is not. I use to play with 0 o clock with the same music I'm playing now with 10 o clock and not it is going red. I was not before.

thats what I'm explaining since the beginning of the ticket. Same musics, same configure I used before on 0 oclock without red lights, now are going in red with something like 10 o clock

Again: My friend was changing DBs on headroom on his rekordbox. If you change this config you will see that everything goes red on rekordbox. He saved in his pendrive and came to my house. After he uses his pendrive there, everything start going red with a boost on the output and in headphones.

It appear that XDJ-XZ "loaded" this DB config from his pendrive into its configs. But it has not this config on options... We tried reseting all configs on pendrive and reload them. Nothing changed.

I would love to just execute a reset factory on XDJ-XZ. Is it possible?

Do you have the exact same file in your collection exported to a different USB drive which is loading at a different audio level?

The first video I was showing a music that I use to use MORE than 0'oclok withou red flags or headphone distortion. As you can see now, when I cros 10 oclock, it goes red.;

Yes. Another friend came with another pendrive with same musics. It keeps going on red.

And not only this music. All. We play all weekends. Everyone noted that everything is going red before it should on TRIM. And again: Headphone is distorting with low volume... (we have multiple v-modas here. All of them)

If it's not the EXACT SAME FILE it could be that the gain of that song is higher, thus louder. See my earlier comparison of an old Motown song vs. a modern dance song.

Ricardo, I'm not trying to come across as being angry or dismissive of what you're saying, but you're not providing me much in the way of information or evidence to show that there is something with the songs being played, or the source they're being played from, that is causing the gain to be higher on one USB drive vs. another.

I try changing attenuator configs for boost, master but it just change the output level on the controller. The problem is much before. In the begginning of the music route there is a boots, reaching controller and headphone.

We did the tests you're saying. Same music we have in multiple pendrives. All thisd musics were not going red on my controller on flat. Now they are. And only in my controller.

We shared before.

Can you show that on a video? The same song being played on his USB and your USB, one on each channel?

Ok. I will ask him to come to my house on weekend to record again. One question: If youi see that I'm telling is true, what willç be the next step?
