Cloning USB of different storage sizes

So I managed to work out what was going wrong when I tried to make a clone of one USB with another identical USB (in terms of hardware i.e. make/model/storage size) whereby I had to copy the name of the Volume in disk utility, before copying the entire contents of the original USB to the would be clone via drag and drop in finder.

I'm still having issues where the USB doesn't read in CDJ's however when I do the same thing where the would be clone is of a larger storage size than the original USB.

Any ideas what this could be?
