XDj-RX2 and Smartphone (Unsupported device)

Hi !

I had tried to connect my Samsung Galaxy A5 with RekordBox Android installed to the XDJ-RX2, but got the error [ E-8307 : UNSUPPORTED DEVICE ]
I tried many ways, but i doesn't work.
However, it is noticed on the manual (or Pioneer XDJ-RX2 official web page) that it should work and should be compatible with Android Smartphones.
Have someone any idea why ti doesn't work and why I got this error ?
I bought my XDJ partly for that too.

It's not just the version of the operating system, but also the hardware, and unfortunately there are simply too many different units on the market for them to acquire and test.

Some devices cannot be connected with XDJ-RX and RX2 using a USB cable, including any Android 6/7 devices. For those who cannot connect their devices to CDJ or XDJ, please use WiFi instead of a USB cable. This means you'll have to use the USB link driver to a computer for units such as the RX2, which do not have an ethernet port.

Did you save a playlist to the rekordbox android app after install?

Nope.... I just tried to connect my phone to the RX2.
But I'd "rekordboxed" some mp3 to try the app.
Should I do a playlist to make it work ? I'm a bit surprised cause of the error message "unsupported device". It seems more like it does not recognize the phone than something else.

Of course.
I tried Many ways......nothing.
When I plug my phone to the XDJ-RX2 USB Port, I got always the error.
After asking on the Facebook XDJ-RX french group, many users have the same problem. Not possible to connect their phone with the XDJ.

According to our site, the rekordbox app for Android is only supported up to version 6, but see the notes for the app; if it doesn't connect via USB, you may need to connect via WiFi, but that may be an issue with the RX2 which doesn't have a conventional ethernet jack.

If you're simply trying to connect to the phone as a USB drive, we can't guarantee that will work - be sure to put the phone in MTP mode and try with the SD card removed.

Android 4.3 (the last version you say doesn't have this USB issue) is very old (hasn't had an update in 4 years) and the XDJ-RX2 is brand new... are you planning to fix this? It makes rekordbox for Android pretty useless for XDJ-RX2 owners.

I can't connect to rekordbox for Mac either - the computer says no mobile device was found.
(Android 7.1, so maybe that's why.) And it doesn't seem to interact with a USB drive connected to my phone via a USB-A to USB-C converter either (though my phone can see it just fine). So there is really nothing at all I can do with rekordbox for Android, as far as I can see :-)

Sorry, I don't have access to an Android device to answer those questions, but I've asked our rekordbox team to provide some information.
