recordbox nightmare

 So, about last night. For a while, Rekordbox was working great with no crash and freezing. I was happy and confident in the software. Because I had a really hard time using it in the past. I checked the news blog and found out that rekordbox now support macOS High, I also look at the pdf file and found that my DJM-900NXS2 and XDJ-1000mk2 was also supported. So I updated my Mac anyways, I tested it at home with no issue. I arrive at my venue at 9 pm, show starts at 10 pm.  I am ready to start my gig. That is where the nightmare begin.  Scrolling playlist was glitching, then finally the software will freeze and become unresponsive, the songs will play out, but it is frozen. I have no choice but to completely shut it down. The clock was now 9:30 pm, I am panicking. Every-time, the software will freeze. I panic and decided to download the beta version of rekordbox, time was running out, my audience is showing up.  I tried backing up but I am running out of time and it was taking too long and it froze. No choice but to completely shut down my laptop.  Long story short, I lost 6 months of music because it stop reading my database and decided by itself to restore to my old backup. My video playlist is greyed and it still froze anyways. So, I prayed to god, avoided switching playlist. Lowered every setting to the lowest possible settings.  It was still sluggish.  That was the only way I could survive. I am talking with my local dealer to see if I could find a gear that will work with Serato Dj.  Rekordbox has cost me thousands of dollars. I do not know why I keep giving it a chance. I am in the process of giving up this nightmare.

I know you can't go back in time, but here's some advice to avoid these situations in future...

1) Upgrade AFTER the event.

2) Always keep a backup WITH YOU.

Now, let's see about helping you get everything running again...

Which OS did you upgrade from? After you upgraded, did you reinstall drivers for the devices? Sometimes that's necessary, even if the driver is the same version as what was previously installed.

You say you tested it at home with no issues, was there any difference in connections or devices at the gig vs. home? Did you test it in the same mode (running a video, for example)?

The reason it restored an older database was when you rebooted, the database that was in use at the time was damaged - it grabbed one of the 3 backups which are created every time you open and close the software. So losing 6 months of music doesn't sound accurate, unless you selectively restored an old backup (zip).

I'd be happy to help you try and recover your data and get things working smoothly, just let me know the answers to the above - I understand you were in panic mode trying to get things running before the start of the event, but knowing some of the specifics may help understand exactly what happened to your database.

Documentation said that my devices are supported and tested on Mac OS High

First -- I do not have a choice but to update the software to beta version. It freezes every time I play a song. The beta made it somewhat usable.  

I made the ultimate decision on Saturday. I went to my local dealer and made a decision.  I traded in my xdj1000mk2s and Mixer for Denon new x1800 mixer and sc5000 prime series. I have given up on your software.  I have lost shows and money because of your unusable software.  This is the last straw for me.
