Sorry to hear about that - there have been a few reports of users experiencing issues with the motor when scratching with the PLX-500; please first contact your retailer to see if they are able to replace it for you.

when I got the issue as soon as I contacted to the retailer in HongKong but they didn't take any action and I asked to replace to my plx500 then they just said they can't ? informed me to sent for repair in pioneer dj service centre.but I didn't have time to fix it. I heard I should wait for more then 2 weeks . because, after few days I was leaving to Hong Kong and it's not possible.so I request for pioneer international warranty card. after that stoped to reply my message and phone call as well. after 2 days the store replied my message .just took the broken plx500 serial number then told me to wait for the next message. but until now I haven't got any reply from the store.now Im hopeless to get help from the retailer and leaving to Hong Kong soon.
@Yaman > I'm sorry, but if you purchased it in Hong Kong, the warranty will only be valid for service in Hong Kong. Any service at other Pioneer DJ repair shops will not be covered by warranty.
Unfortunately, if the retailer does not offer an exchange on the unit for you, the only option is repair.
@Pulse..Today I'm so disappoint with pioneer dj brand . I trusted it from long time and I used it too. but today I so worried about it , because of the plx500 it's like a garbage ..it has made for show pieces that much only ..but not for the professional use. actually one of my pix500 platter motor already has dead ,I had mentioned about it before already.but I was waiting for repair in Singapore in few days.yesterday when I came back From the duty, and then open the new box of plx500 then tested the scratching an hour after that I kept it back ....(another unit of plx500 which one I haven't used it before just leaved it still inside the box.) today again I set up to practice and turn on the power then press start/stop bottom. the platter isn't turning as the same as issue before ......I don't know what I gonna do these units, even it hasn't been 20 days, after purchased. and how I gonna repair it. may be the charge of repair almost same as the brand new plx500 price. .......so????
@Yaman > I'm sorry to hear that - the PLX-500 is indeed designed for scratching, but the PLX-1000 is certainly more robust and intended for those who scratch a lot. I know the 500 you have is brand new, and it's not an issue of the amount of use before it failed - some units have seen this issue, as you describe, right out of the box.
As I noted previously, the only options you have are to try and exchange with your retailer or have it repaired under warranty in the country where you purchased it. Sorry!
