XDJ-RX and Mac OSX High Sierra

Any idea if these two are compatible yet? It is December and Pioneer have not posted anything on this at end of November.

Have anyone upgrade to High Sierra and everything is fine or not ?

I haven't found the XDJ-RX compatible with MacOS High Sierra. I updated one of my Macs to High Sierra, since then the Mac won't load the audio driver for the XDJ-RX. So I can't set the output method to "XDJ-RX". The Mac uses the internal audio...

I have the XDJ-RX updated to FW version 2.21, the Mac is fully updated. I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times, even tried the driver for the XDJ-RX2, but al to no avail.

My other Mac running MacOS Sierra works fine with the XDJ-RX......

So for now I'm wating for Pioneer to update the driver....... Maybe next time they can update it a bit faster.

Hi,

Can you reinstall the driver again? Then as soon as it's installed go into System Preferences/Security & Privacy. At the bottom there, is it asking you to allow the extension? If so, allow it. A lot of audio drivers need to be 'allowed' in High Sierra.

Also, I don't think the audio driver for the XDJ-RX will ever be updated for the Mac. Such a shame as I only bought mine a few months before the RX2 was released. And the original RX audio driver has a REALLY annoying issue when if you are playing something from iTunes for example, then go to Safari, any webpage with audio on it, like pretty much all webpages nowadays, it'll go into a mad audio feedback loop. It also completely crashed out my 10.13 Mac once, it restarted itself and the culprit in the crash logs was... yep, the Pioneer XDJ-RX driver!!

I have updated the firmware to 2.21 and Rekordbox to 5.03 (previously 5.02), and I was using Sierra at all time linking XDJ-RX without any issue.

Not until I saw the update on compatibility of High Sierra finally got verified on December 5, then I updated my Mac to High Sierra. I have not found any problem with sound or any problem with audio driver.

In System Preference > Security & Privacy, I didn't see the extension allowed line anywhere. Look at all the tabs inside Security & Privacy and didn't see anything.

I just purchased the XDJ RX2. I would like to link my mac but I'm having troubles.

Running High Sierra v10.13.6.

Firmware is updated to 1.32

Audio driver 1.0.0 Last updated 14/Sep/2017 is installed

USB Connection (link export) Driver for mac lasted updated 04/Oct/2016

Driver is NOT showing up on the audio device window in Audio MIDI Setup App.

I have checked the security block in preferences noted here but I am not seeing the Pioneer DJ Corp message next to the allow button.

If someone has any ideas for me, I'd love to hear about them

Thanks!!

Hi,

Restart the Mac. Wait for it to boot, login as usual. Then install the driver again. Once reinstalled, immediately go to System Preferences and allow the driver in Security. You should be golden then.

Hope that helps,

T

You only have about half an hour before you have to restart the Mac and then you'll get another chance to click the allow button.

Didn't work :(

I've restarted, reinstalled, uninstalled. Been trying all day. I think my 30 minutes is up.

So what happens when you do click the allow button then?

Hi Pulse, thanks for your message.

I followed your instructions, I allowed the app block. The block message went away.

Still can't see it in the Audio Devices Window and greyed out in the midi window.

Simple. you have downloaded the wrong driver. You have downloaded the RX2 driver, not the RX driver.

Thanks again for your help!

Just installed the RX driver. Still no go :(

Question: Even though I have the RX2, is the RX driver the one to install?

This thread is all about the RX not the RX2.

Have you tried changing the usb cable? It's not plugged into a USB hub is it?

Plug it in, switch it on, it will then appear on the Mac.
