You can still do that ... just ignore it and DJ.
Disable/visibility options for beatgrid in Rekordbox
At present the the beat grid is always visible, and it is pretty much just useless clutter for any DJs wishing to just "straight up DJ" with organic tracks (Jazz, Soul, Funk, Reggae, etc.) or in situations where you have no intention to use sync features.
In Serato, you have the option to turn sync completely off and it also disables the grid, which isn't as intrusive to begin with even when sync is activated. Even Traktor has the option to adjust beatgrid visibility.
I feel you bro. I love the ability to hide moving waveforms and bpm counters.
I'm trying my best to ignore it, but I'd rather look at the wave form than the beat grid when I need a visual cue.
Stop looking at the laptop, displays, waveforms. Like Pulse said, ignore it. stop riding the waveforms. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
and since when did rekordbox ever activate SYNC automatically?
