That's a frame-cueing and it's been on players since the first CDJs (before vinyl mode existed) and continues to this day as many DJs actually prefer it.

I have just come from the Denon Prime 2, and was wondering why I have this ridiculous play stutter mode on cueing up ?
I'm not a scratch DJ so why do I have a vinyl mode, with oversensitive jog wheels which I hate.
Why can't pioneer just have a Cd mode option, I'm sure it would appeal to many more dj's like me.
When I use performance mode it's totally normal, and how I like it, but when I switch back to XDJ mode, I either have to engage Vinyl mode 😠, or back to play/stutter mode !.🤷😞
