My Silicon Power Armor EXT HD only loads on CDJ 3000, but is unrecognisable on any other CDJ - Help!J

I recently purchased a Silicon Power, Armour 3TB Ext CD drive (as was recommended as a good EXT HD for Pioneer CDJs somewhere!)

I have formatted to Fat 32 (dafualt) - several times! , Synced with Record box succesfully but when I hook it up to any older CDJ's it says 'Format disc'. I was amazed when I went to a gig that had a CDJ 3000 and it all loaded up fine !!!??

Any ideas why it loads up on the 3000, but no other CDJ? - I have substituted the 3.2 cable with a 3.0 cable and used in old CD players and still nothing (though rather than a 'format' disc mesage it just seems to completely ignore the drive and do nothing at all?)

Anybody got any ideas on why this might be happening?  - Is this Ext HD somehow too 'new' for the old machines?? I'm grasping at straws a bit now !!

Thanks

Andy

It's not likely anything to do with the format of the drive, rather the host controller chipset in the drive is incompatible with older CDJs.

Pioneer DJ does not guarantee 100% compatibility with any USB drive. Functionality of one drive does not guarantee functionality of another identical make / model drive. Manufacturers are known to change the memory controller chip per availability or cost, and as a result, there is always a chance that a drive may not be compatible with the player host chipset. Recommendations or the results of another user may not be the same for you and your drive.
