[SOLVED] EFX 1000 stuck in debug mode

I downloaded the service manual to see if there was a solution to the error I have and for some reason it seems to be continually powering up into what the manual calls "debug mode" - I checked to see if there was a button combination to exit out of it but it just advises that a power cycle should exit into normal mode.

Possibly the buttons used to enter the mode are stuck down maybe but before I send this in for a repair /service I was wondering if anyone else with the efx-1000 had suffered the same problem or had a solution?

Likely a stuck button causing it to enter that mode each time it's powered-up.
