Rekordbox 1.5 update ..... FAIL FAIL FAIL
Getting tons of E8305 errors using link with 1.5, never had e8305 ever before, lots of tracks are freezing the CDJ when tryign to load them
don't ever remember ever having an E-8305 error before, I used to get the 8302 but never this 8305.
I have been playing the exact same files all last night and this morning, using 1.4.1 and the link function. updated to 1.5 and now my CDj's are just freezing up when trying to load half the same files. half the time its not even throwing up and error message, just freezes the deck
Just taken a handful of the tracks that won't transfer/freeze the cdj via link (using 1.5) and manually copied them onto a usb drive and also exported them via rekordbox and they all play perfectly well off the usb stick, but none of them will transfer directly to the deck from RB 1.5 and most freeze the deck entirely.
I have just:-
Running 1.5 on win7, backed up database, disconnected ext hd and connected it to my old laptop running winxp and rb 1.4.1, restored the back up of the database.
ALL the files that won't load on 1.5 now load perfectly well via link using 1.4.1
Since upgrading from 1.4 to 1.4.1 I havnt experienced a single E-8xxx message, now, since upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.5 i cannot even load most tracks without an error E-8xxx message or worse (and in MOST CASES) the deck freezes completly, needing turning off and on again.
Exactly same problem here.
2 x CDJ 2000 connected to
1x Belkin 1Gbit Switch connected to
1x Laptop (Win 7 with RB 1.5)
When RB is loaded and the Players are on i can klick on the link butten and both players appear in the bottom in white color.
So far so good.
Now when i pull any track to one of the decks (in RB 1.5) it just freezes the CDJ 2000
Next try with my HDD.
Players are linkt and i see them in the bottom of RB in white color.
Now when i load a track from the HDD the color of the player in RB turns color in to orange in pause mode or green color in play mode.
So mx conclusion is, the the player are linked correctly so no firewall problem.
I had read in an other post, if the player are connectet via USB so in MIDI mode, now the player appear also in the bottom of RB 1.5
I Think there is the Problem in the software.
I think the software cant figure out which connetion is active LAN or MIDI (USB)
Please fix this problem asap.

Thanks Creaky, this is already a ticket so we'll hopefully have some response soon.
Rekordbox doesn't communicate with the players in MIDI/HID modes, just indicates that they're in operation in that mode, so it shouldn't be an issue.
weird, i have 2 x CDJ 2000, a mac and a switch i am sure is not very capable and have not had any problems with 1.5, and i have been using Link feature very often
also my players dont turn red
I think its a windows thing XD
It may be hehe, i tried to reproduce the error on my windows machine but i cant get it to show the track on any of the players
just an FYI to add to the thread, I run 10.6.7 on my macbook and let it run through tracks on it's own for the last 24 hours continuously and it has not locked up once, so maybe it is just a Windows thing, Hopefully, in my case anyway

This all started when i switched to 1.5 as well.
Currently using and is linked up:
2x CDJ 2000
1x DJM 900
1x Macbook Pro.
When i got it all linked, i can see the players and mixer in Rekordbox, but when i try to drag and drop a track, it freezes my player, and i have to restart it to play even a USB ..
When i check the LINK feature on the CDJ's - Rekordbox doesnt show up?
I'm still using 1.3.1 which is running without any glitches and not planning on upgrading anytime soon.
At my side.. I had similair problems..
Was scrolling trough one playlist on both my cdjs (via RB 1.5) and my CDJ-900 and 2000 freezed and had to reboot them.. then it was all good again.
Didn't had that problem with 1.4.1.. but I did encounter it before 1.4.1
i guess i'll stick with 1.4.1 till these thing clear out :)
I'm not having this issue with RekordBox 1.5, but I was having a similar issue on my old MacBook Pro (I upgraded a couple of months ago) and 1.4.1.
I THINK it was caused by my USB 3G card drivers interfering with my TCP/IP stack for my ethernet card. What I had to do was remove my 3G card drivers, and then either disable and re-enable my ethernet card or reboot altogether. Even after the 3G card drivers were gone altogether, often I had to reboot or disable and re-enable my ethernet card for it to work. I had the exact same problems Soltauw described. Seems to be all good with 1.5 on my new MacBook Pro though (I have no use for my 3G card though and haven't tried installing the drivers though.)
hi have have just brough a mac book pro ,and installed recordbox, from the cd 1.3 version worked ok but since update to 1.5 keeps crashing thyen i lost all my playlist just as i had made them was gutted cos they didnt get backed up kept crashing when loading track into collection too , i had to un install then reload from the cd 1.3 without updating to 1.5 seems to be ok with 1.3 , i did have a problem with 1.3 on my last laptop that after playing for a while it just stoped playing and recordbox froze then shut down , but that only about twice but this 1.5 need sorting out as its alot worse than iv ever had befor , it wont work at all juast loads up then as soon as you do something it crashes ? any ides
Oh man, I got the same problem... I just bought 2 cdj 2000 and the 900 nexus. I installed recordbox 1.3.1 and afterwars 1.5 on my imac and was happy with that. But 1.5 freezes all the time, I've been trying to solve the problem for hours now... but, without any luck!! Im so lost!
is it the software....? what do I have to do??

I did as the post describe on the problem, you know the one... Read this thread before posting for help with Rekordbox!
Try disconnecting USB devices (especially soundcards, hard drives, flash drives, SD cards and/or card-readers) and try again.
- Rekordbox crashes on startup and you have nothing else connected to your computer
It could be that your database is corrupted or damaged and you need to try loading the backup database. Ensure Rekordbox is closed and find your database in the following location:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Pioneer\rekordbox
Win 7: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox

Rename datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old
Rename datafile.backup.edb to datafile.edb (removing .backup)
I only changed the datafile.edb to datafile.edb.old and that was it !
Restart Rekordbox and see if it opens. If it does, the main database was corrupted and the backup was working okay.
I'll hope it will work out for you as well... man was I stressed/pissed about it, eventually worked out :)
Ok, but thats not our problem, i think the database of all users in this thread work fine.
The Problem is the PLayer crash if we load files from laptop into the Player.
I hope there will be a fix soon.
well, maybe you're right! Im very new to this, Im just about to learn the software now, so..
But, I have transfered tracks into recordbox and into my players now and that was impossible before. It crashed all the time, i couldn't analyze tracks before or anything
My rekordbox 1.5 works very well but sometimes the players behave erratically, when i load a song into a player it crashes or hangs while loading, i discovered that this issue is more related to my computer Ethernet settings (Mac with OSX 10.6) and go to speed settings, i set it to some other speed that is not 100MB/sec and apply, then i go and select the 100MB/sec and apply, after this the players start working again (after rebooting them and reboot Rekordbox) i dont know about why this happens and i got no luck with my Windows PC

I have to say RB starts to annoy me for linked purpose , somme problems just don't get fixed!
And when will we be able to transfer data basses from pc to mac??? Its just switching the windows \ to a /
Could everyone in this thread having communication errors when using the Rekordbox Link please try the following:
ensure that your firewall is configured to allow these applications (or test with the firewall disabled completely):
check that your players are manually numbered
check that the network cables are seated correctly
that you are not using a ROUTER but instead a SWITCH or a direct connection between the computer and player(s)
Also, if you have any custom network devices, adapters or settings, please let us know.
Same problem here, although it's the first time it happens since I updated to RB 1.5 (and I did it when it came out).
All the points above-mentioned by Pulse have been checked. Seriously I don't know why the files can play from any device but not from RB (which by the way can play the files without any pb).
Config: win 7 64 bits, pro link, netgear switch. No special stuff/settings then.
Also, when drag n dropping the concerned files from RB to the players, the waveform, track info and picture are all loaded and visible on the screen. But the play button does not answer and ultimately the player sends the 8305 error message.

nope, everything is directly imported to RB from my internal hard drive after analysis by mp3val.

only windows firewall, and I have double checked that all programs you mentioned above have been allowed through it. Basically, I have encountered this error only on one file until now - and it doesn't matter on which player I try, they all freeze. This file passes the tests in MP3val and can be read/analyzed/tagged etc in RB, but not on the players through RB.
