Do you use iTunes at all?
I do yeah , but Im reluctant to bring all my tracks into Itunes as it will take up too much space on my HD , I know I can point it to external HD , .... so why do you asK ?
Do you possibly have iTunes set to manage your music? If so and you've used it to change any of the artsist or album information, it will automatically move the files around, causing Rekordbox to not find them.
yes I use iTunes to manage my music i.e. rekordbox cant burn cd's thus I need itunes for this sort of functionality, so there is a good possibility that this is what happened. But is my only choiice to relocate track by track ? this is very time consuming.
thank you
You can go to File > Display All Missing Files and then use the Relocate button there; it will learn from the update path if you have moved a bunch to a new folder or drive, but it may still require manual interaction to help relocate them all.
Thank you Pulse Ive dont just that and relocated most of my files ...... but now .... ahem ... an album that I imported into Rekordbox yesterday , when I go to play a track it gives me the error message. 'cant load track:file not found'
so Im once again showing rekordbox the path.
whats the difference with this error message ?
If you didn't correct all files, then you may still have that error.
I failed to mention Pulse that these new tracks are not showing up when I choose' File > Display All Missing Files' . its just if I choose them randomly,
its so have to find all these tracks as yoiu can imagine I have them in may different folders , single tracks etc
is there not an easier method to relocate these files if they are not showing under 'display all missing files' ?
thanks again
I've been having these same issues. Any solution?
@Peter > This post is from 2011, and I doubt you're using rekordbox 1.5.1; please create a new post and provide us with additional information about your issue and what might have occurred leading up to it.
